Fight For Japan

Apr 07, 2011 10:52

With the ongoing tragedy in Japan in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami, DREAM, a fight promotion in Japan made this video since 3 of their top fighters, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Shinya Aoki and Hiroyuki Takaya, are fighting on this weekend's Strikeforce card (Rob and Sara should like this since they use a Robbie Williams song XD ):

Tatsuya Kawajiri - "Currently everyone in Japan is hanging in there. So it is not about encouraging people with my fight. I want to hang in there with everybody out there. Re-start point for Japan. If I win, it should become so."

I'll definitely be rooting for Kawajiri, but he's got a really tough opponent in Gilbert Melendez. Don't really care for Shinya Aoki since he's a jerk (scroll down #1 on this list to see proof.)

Additionally, longtime Japanese fighter Hayato "Mach" Sakurai embarked on a mission of his own to do what he can to help out in earthquake battered areas . . .

Sakurai Led "Team Justice" Infiltrates Remote Japanese Areas To Help NeedyIt brought a broad smile to my face when I was able to get contact from Hayato "Mach" Sakurai who has been embarking on a kind of superhero type mission of his own, typifying the bushido spirit in which he has fought throughout his long career. After the terrible natural disasters hit, Sakurai began bringing his friends together in an effort to raise some money to help those in need. Although the exact figure escapes me, the pictures go quite far to explaining the amount. Sakurai managed to raise enough to hire 3 massive trucks. In these trucks he and his friends managed to gather a survival horde filling each truck to the brim with blankets, food, water and other useful survival items.
Go Team Justice!!!!

Lastly, retired Japanese fighter Genki Sudo released this music video as a message of hope for Japan . . .

"The unprecedented disasters unfolding in Japan; earthquakes, tsunami, and nuclear explosions, will somehow change things to come. And to send my message about this, I have expressed it here with WORLD ORDER. These disasters can be interpreted as a turning point for civilization. I think that we have arrived at a time of revolution, shared with all the people of the world, in today’s society, economy, and political systems. Incidents themselves are neutral. I believe that every single one of us, wandering through this deep darkness, can overcome anything, if only we let go of our fear, and face the it all in a positive light. The world is not going to change. Each one of us will change. And if we do, then yes, the world will be changed. It is darkest right before the dawn. Let’s all rise up to welcome the morning that will be so very bright for mankind.

WE ARE ALL ONE"

--Genki Sudo

"WE ARE ALL ONE" has been Genki's motto forever. He's been a favorite fighter of mine for a long time, and I wish he would get back in the ring/cage. Watch this highlight video and you'll see why . . .
