Relieved I be
Picked up my Mom and stepdad from the airport today (updating from their house.) They just got back from Italy. My Mom can't get enough of that place. She wants a home there so she can come and go as she pleases.
I am relieved because her Birthday was actually last week and I bought her this big, heavy, 32" Sony Tube TV and installed it in her entertainment center/hutch. She had an old 27" TV that was my old one (a Toshiba model from 1994) that was barely filling that thing up and the picture was rapidly failing. Got the Sony off of Craigslist for $100 and installed it in the hutch . . . after taking the side doors off to make it fit.
I was worried that she'd have a fit since I took the doors off, but she loves it. It's not Hi-Def, but it still gives off a really nice picture. Besides, regular ol' FIOS cable looks really good on it. Laserdiscs look good on it too. Oh, did I mention? I gave her a Laserdisc player a few years ago as well. She has a small collection of LDs that aren't available on DVD or VHS!
And before you ask, yes, they do have a DVD player! (got that for them a few years before the LD player.)
