Pioneer Officially Ceases Production of Laserdisc Players
Thus, the Laserdisc format is officially dead and buried.
I know most of you thought it was already dead, but even though no new software was being produced, Pioneer was still churning out a few models of players up until this month (kind of like how Sony was making Betamax VCRs up until that format's official end in 2002.) Hard to believe that the format held on for more than 30 years!
I think I'm going to go home and hug my Laserdisc players. T_T
