Random thought: Why do Vitamin Shoppe "Ultimate Man" (God, I hate that name) multi-vitamins smell like potatoes?

Freakin' weekend was freakin' fun and went too freakin' fast. Started off when I went to go pick up Callie (thecalliecat) from the train station. This after I spent most of Saturday morning putting together one of the FLÄRKES and finding out that even after I filled that one with DVDs, it barely put a dent in organizing my collection. When I found the Callie, we headed over to Dave and Mar's place to wait for everyone else to show up. Methinks it was about 18 (Dave, Mar, Val, Jez, Callie, Anne, Heather, Sara, Rob, Hawk, Becky, Chibi, Andrew, Mike, Norm, Steph, Pat--think that's everyone!) of us or so--and we went to the skating rink!

(but only a few of us were decked out in our 80s regalia!!! WIMPS!!!)

That was a whole lotta fun as I haven't been rollerskating in years! It was especially nostalgic as the rink we went to, Holiday Skating Rink, was a place I spent almost every friday night when I was 11, 12, 13 years old! Place hasn't changed much other than the paint job and the fact they moved the game room from one side to the other.

Oh yeah, and they actually put doors on the stalls in the bathroom finally! XD

Took me a couple minutes to get used to be moving around with wheels on my feet but it all came back to me . . . sorta. I did wipeout when this one girl pulled right in front of me and I fell trying to slow down to not hit her. Also lost my balance once and almost wiped out as Dave bore witness, but I was able to regain my bearings by pushing off the wall!

Only problem was, the session seemed over before it begain as the place closed at 10pm. On our way out we did find out about this one skating rink in Cherry Hill, NJ that has an "18 and up" skating night the first Friday of every month with all 70s, 80s and 90s tunes! Well, we all know where our next skating excursion will be!!!

After skating we went to this one 24 hour diner nearby for some late-night eats then back to Dave and Mar's for drinking and gaming and Wonder Showzen--which is just about the most wrong show ever.

We also found a Stefan at Dave and Mar's who is always a welcome presence and a welcome competitor in fighting game idiocy (despite his persistence on using a pad rather than a stick--KIDDING!)

I think I finally got to sleep at around 3:30am.

Sunday was basically me, Stefan, Sara, Rob, Hawk, Becky, Chibi, Andrew and Mike trying to find the Japan house in Fairmout park to no avail for the ass-end of the Sakura Matsuri stuffs and going to Jo-Mar's for fabric and ghetto shoppings. Oh yeah, and GINORMOUS desserts at Longhorn Steakhouse.

Next skating excursion is tentatively scheduled for the first Friday in June (MARK YOUR CALENDARS PEOPLES!!)

Side notes and stuffs: STEFAN!! here's that gif you wanted for an icon--resized for your uses . . .

I take it Kim was in the military since he's sporting some dog tags in that P2 costume.

Lastly, FROM FOX NEWS' 'OUT THERE' COLUMN:Bald Eagle Becomes Single Dad

WASHINGTON (AP) - Within earshot of traffic roaring along the Capital Beltway, a suddenly single dad is waging a quiet struggle to save his offspring, a nest of bald eagle eggs on the verge of hatching.

The eagle, nicknamed George by workers building a new Beltway bridge, lost his mate, Martha, when she was attacked by another female eagle Wednesday. The aggressor may have been trying to take over George and Martha's nest in suburban Maryland, which is valuable real estate for the area's booming bald eagle population.

After watching Martha fall in a dramatic midair battle, construction workers sought help from Stephanie R. Spears, an environmental specialist working with the Woodrow Wilson Bridge project.

Spears rushed the bleeding mother eagle to a veterinary hospital in Newark, Del., where she was being treated for puncture wounds and a damaged beak that may need weeks of rehabilitation.

George was left alone to guard the nest and at least two eggs, difficult because he needs to hunt for food twice a day, and the attacking female remains a threat.

Spears said she and federal wildlife officials were considering whether to move the eggs, or chicks, into a surrogate nest where they might have a better chance at survival.

Hope they can help the Eagle daddy out and nurse the mom back to health!

skating, out there
