Greetings and welcome to my writing journal!
My name is Jen, and I'm currently a student at Barnard College in NYC. Technically, I'm double majoring in Dance and Asian and Middle Eastern Cultures (my specialty being India), but I've always had a passion for the written word. I began writing creatively during 7th grade with a few moody poems and poor imitations of my favorite writers (think Tamora Pierce). These pieces were passed around my group of friends so we could mutually obsess over our newfound passion, but generally we were just producing mass amounts of crap. In high school, I got involved with our school literary magazine (yeah Opus!), and I discovered the wonders of writing poetry. I can't say I've fully moved on from my poem days, but I'm taking a second look a writing a novel.
My current project takes place in a town called Deadwood. My dear friend Kendra (
belluminabyssus) and I came up with the premise during one of our infamous Write-A-Thon sleepovers. It's initial intent was to put the word "deadly" back in front of "vampire," and so far, things are looking up for the bloodsuckers. Past projects consist mainly of some fanfiction pieces I wrote as a springboard to writing prose again. I've also uncovered a few pieces of my Nanowrimo '07 story that I've left open to everyone as a little teaser!
Enjoy and always feel free to contact me!
