Only Winry could say something like that to you and get away with it, me thinks. You would probably only hear something like that from her, because she hacks through all of your bs and reaches into your heart, dragging it all out kicking and screaming, whether you want it seen or not. And she forces you to see beyond your Self, a lot of the time.

Which is why I will always adore these two characters together....

Totally agree. I don't think there's anybody else who could have said it and had the same kind of impact. Even coming from Al, it doesn't work.

No, because, IIRC, anime!Al was far more deferring to Ed, and saying such things to him might never even have crossed his mind.

I think he might have brought it up to a minor extent, but Al's guilty of the same thing Ed is, so he doesn't really have legs to stand in for the conversation anyways, and he'd know that. *pats Winry on the head*
