Childish Quarrels

Feb 17, 2007 17:26

Who: Rinku and Shura
Where: School yard
When: Friday lunch time
Summary: Rinku meets Shura personally for the first time, and they decide to sort out their differences

Valentine's Day was meant to be a day where all the girls give presents to whoever they liked, right? If that was the case, then what had happened to all the students who used to follow Rinku around, and buy lunch for him?
He had waited the whole day, and not recieved one present... fortunately, he was confident Sasuga had no idea that this day even existed.
Frowning he retrieved his own obento out of his locker, his savior against the cafeteria food, and turned to wander out into the yard.

Shura was eating alone as usual. He had chosen a spot under a tree to observe the other students with that quite and almost reflective expression of his. He considered everyone tiresome and his violet eyes glanced around evenly. He had been given one box of chocolates by some girl though the meaning was rather unclear to him and asking Youda didn't prove be any help.

He glanced around the yard, looking for a familiar youkai to talk to. Even around such hopeless ningens, the idea of eating alone was a daunting one, especially if it meant destroying whatever small reputation he had built.
Catching a glimpse of another lone student, situated towards the opposite end of the strip, Rinku grinned, making his way towards him without a second thought. Of course from the position he was in, it was still impossible to see exactly who this other person was.

Shura looked up as he noticed another student coming right towards him. He didn't really care what the other students though of him eating alone and only a few approached him since they were all aware he was the principal's son so this was surprising to the young goat. But Shura remained where he was, he was not one to back away in any situation.

As the boy came into Rinku's view range he stopped, eyes widening slightly as realisation struck him.
"You!" An accusing finger was pointed at the other, all initial plans of joining him for lunch now long forgotten. This was that Koujoushin kid, the annoying little runt that he had talked to- if only briefly- over livejournal.
"You stole my friends!" Ever since Saniiro had started at this school, Rinku's "friends" had been losing interest in him, and the only person he could possibly blame for that...was the Principal's son.
No doubt having two students who appeared a lot younger than they actually were, wasn't as cool as having one. Or at least, that's how Rinku saw it. After all, emo kids like Saniiro who sit by themselves must love to steal attention.

Shura blinked, unsure of what the other was speaking about for a moment.  "Well, it is not my fault if other students prefer my presence over that of someone who is so...immature and loud spoken," he pointed out matter-of-factly, almost as if speaking to a child.

"Funny, I didn't think they'd like someone...who appeared to have a pole rammed up his ass." Yes, being around cursing juvinile delinquents, not to mention a house occupied by two drunks and an old lady among others, had certainly done wonders to Rinku's vocabulary. This kid had no right to speak to him like that.

Shura frowned, no one had ever dared to speak like that to him before and he would certainly not let this brat get away with it! "How dare you speak to me like that!" he got to his feet, lunch now forgotten as he glared at the other. This is why he liked to keep to himself...

"Hey, i'm sorry!" Even though the apology was there, Rinku's dismissive actions caused it to lack all meaning. "You should've told me you were royalty!" A grin, silently finding his reaction quite amusing. It felt almost like pissing off Waka....now that brought about a sense of nostalgia!

Shura was about to snap back when he paused, remembering that he couldn't speak about the Makai or anything about being a youkai. "Your apology lacks any convinction and I am not royalty. You are tiresome!" Shura remarked in an evin tone, crossing his arms but his expression was that of  a bratty kid ready to throw a temper fit.

"Well done Koujo, good thing you can detect sarcasm. Otherwise i would've thought you really were ten!' Rinku squatted down, picking up the obento he had dropped earlier and making sure the lid was tightly on it, before turning side-on to Saniiro. "Oh well. I better go find my friends, before the next class starts." What an unlucky run in...but, he'd had his fun and now, hunger was telling him it was time to drop it and leave.

Oh Shura was annoyed now, angry that this kid had insulted him like that. Without thinking, Shura lashed out, aiming a fast and hard punch towards Rinku's jaw. Though he was angry, he still remembered he could not use any of his abilities that were associted with being a youkai.

The moment he had stood before him, Rinku had classified this boy as a ningen, and unable to do anything.
He had partially turned his back to Koujoushin, not expecting in the least to be struck at. But he had, and it had hurt.
The impact had forced his head back, knocking him off balance for a moment and leaving quite a decent red mark across his jaw. Rinku scowled, rocking back onto his feet and glowering daggers at the other boy. Without thinking he ran towards him, using both hands to grip at his shoulders, and try and push him to the ground.

Shura stepped back, trying to turn away to avoid but he was pushed down to the ground. He was annoyed that he couldn't use his youki-he could easly crush this kid but he remembered his father's lecture on the importance of appearing as a ningen so he growled, trying to get the room to attempt another punch towards Rinku.

Resisting the urge to apply actual power to his attacks, Rinku followed Saniiro's descend, landing on top of him and attempting to pin him down with feet and elbow, while his other hand was raised into the air. The stupid brat had hit him, he had every right to hit him back.

Shura growled and raised one leg to aim  his knee hard right toward's Rinku's stomach. He was outraged that this kid dared to be so rude to him!

The knee hit, and he winced. That was the second time he had been struck in the stomach in a week, and if he had been human, it would have been enough to paralyse him. Despite the pain though, Rinku continued his attack, swinging his fist around to aim at his jaw. As irrational as it was, he didn't think about the consequences of that move.
Just so long as he hit him.

Shura took the hit, only wincing slightly. After the fight against his father in the Makai Tournament...pain was not something new to Shura. But he acted as if the punch had had more effect than it had, wincing again in afterthought.  But he had no intention of losing to some human kid...

There was no longer a point to holding him down. Especially if Koujoushin intended to knee him again. Instead Rinku pushed away from him, quickly resorting to a standing position and delivering a kick to his head.
"Geez...You're so stubborn!"

But Shura was on his feet quickly and while Rinku still had his foot extended for a kick, aimed a hard kick towards Rinku's other leg, right towards the knee. "And you are tiresome!"

His leg was swiped right out from under him, the force- combined with the damage Chuu's head had done to it earlier that week- pushed bone close to breaking point. Rinku could feel the unusual, yet not unknown, warning feeling that came before a snap, leaving him no chose but to move with the attack and let his body fall to the ground, making sure his head and leg did not come into contact.
"Then give up already!"

"You are the one who insulted me," Shura pointed out angerily but he paused...when his father found out that he had gotten into a fight, he would get in trouble no doubt...

"Only because you called me immature," Rinku hissed. He didn't move from his position on the grass though, at this point it would be better to avoid any more conflict.
After all, a true fighter knows when enough is enough. Regardless of how the fight started, he failed to see how verbal insults could hurt.

"Well, you are," Shura pointed out simply, deciding it was best to stop fighting before he really got in serious trouble.

"If it's immature to fight and insult others when needed, then you're just as bad as me.' Rinku muttered, dusting himself off and making to leave for a second time, "Your dad wouldn't like this, so ya might wanna keep quiet." A mischivious glance back at him, "If you can manage that."

A bell rung to signal the end of the break, and he made his way back across the yard. The litte brat had taken up so much time, he would now have to go through another two classes hungry..

Shura picked up his lunch and when Rinku turned his back, the goatling stuck his tongue out towards the other, making a face at him before heading in himself. He didn't want to be late for class after all.

shura, rinku
