(no subject)
I normally don't ask the cards about anything related to creative projects, but I decided to do that today. What I should know about those things for the near future, I suppose one could say.
Today's card: Ace of Wands
I don't pull this card often, and I don't often draw Wands in general, so that was a bit of a surprise.
The description from my handbook is thus: Beginning of an enterprise, invention, or beginning of a family. Perhaps the beginning of a journey, an adventure, an escapade.
... Well, I did just join a new fandom. But that description, like all of the ones in my handbook, is really brief and general.
After poking around a bit more, the general idea seems to be: there are a lot of ideas flying around here, and I should just do what I'm inspired to do, and not worry too much about the particulars. If I want to write new things, I should do so. If I want to try writing for new characters, new fandoms, new types of stories - I should do so. There's lots of creative energy, and I should use it.
It can also potentially suggest having a spark and not knowing what to do with it. A bit directionless. Well, that could apply here too, because right now IDEAS are coming from every direction, and I'm like... halp.
... Eehhhhh.
So, basically, I need to give myself permission to do whatever the hell pleases me creatively. I think.
OKAY. PERMISSION GRANTED.
Though in reality that's not so easy - I'm a picky, particular, nervous person. But I guess I might as well just... write. Get those ideas and feelings out. I mean, hey, it's not like I have to post anything immediately after the draft is finished, after all. I can sit on it a while.
So I guess... that's what I will do.
