Hetalia things
I finally made my way through all of the submissions in the 
nordipalooza fest. A couple of months late, but - better late than never, right? And now I don't have to think about it for a while! ... Not until next February, when I'll have to start putting the fest together again, haha.
Anyway, a rec: Krummavísur by Kainoliero. Norway & Iceland, G, set during the 1800s. Norway has a mishap, but there's someone there to give him a helping hand.
The thing that really struck me about that fic is that it's so infrequent that I see Iceland written as 1. competent, and 2. capable of handling things (especially in a capacity like this). Doubly so for this time period. So, it was pretty refreshing to see.
Kind of puts me in the mood to write some gen with them, myself, though I don't have any specific ideas at the moment. Not to mention, sometimes my thoughts on what they would think of each other changes a lot.
... Most of my current ideas are NSFW stuff, honestly, which really is not what I feel like actually writing lately. Maybe I should read some more history, or something. Or novels or - well, it's hard to figure out exactly will get me in the mood for that. Varies so much.
