My computer had trouble starting this morning. Something with the hard drive. I got it going eventually, but rushed to back everything up after that. Usually, I keep pretty good backups, but it's always best to be sure. Needless to say, this is not something that I appreciated happening at 5 AM. Not that it's wanted at any time, mind you.

But, so far, so good. Hopefully there won't be any problems tomorrow.

News from work is that I'm far ahead what was expected of me at this particular time. I'm surprised and relieved. I thought I was going to have to come in on one of my days off to get stuff done. Not so. And that's very good news with Nordipalooza coming up. I'll need all the spare writing time I can get.

I think I might need to borrow my mother's e-reader. And by "borrow" I mean "claim as my own and keep", since she never uses it. There are a lot of things that I want to read, but I don't want to buy physical copies of them because I don't know if I'll like them and I don't have the room for more books. And some of these things might not even exist in print format, anyway - I'm actually, not sure; I haven't checked. It's just that there have been a lot of really interesting recommendations for scifi/fantasy novels crossing my streams as of late, and I'm getting really curious.

Downside is, I don't like tech very much. I'm kind of rough-handed with my things, and I always worry about breaking them. If I drop my paperback on the ground while I'm bumming around at the bus stop, well, that's not a problem. If I drop an expensive doohicky? Potential tears. Ah, well.
