Thank you, Captain, for putting a lot of thought into producing each fan club newsletter.
Now let's enjoy Captain & Crew Takuya Kimura Official Fan Club newsletter #3
- He first thanked fans for watching Kyojo 2.
- When he finished filming Kyojo, he didn’t expect that there’ll be a sequel. So, he was very surprised when the offer came.
- He then talked about the tough filming of Kyojo 2. They had to prepare a lot of things before the camera actually got rolling. He especially appreciated the effort put into the filming by the actors who played the role of the student.
- He had many good encounters [with good people] during the filming. He joked about how he didn’t understand why he was confessed [love] to by several male actors, but not a single female actress. lol
- During the filming break, they would invite him to the smoking room, but ended up just sitting there without smoking at all. They took that chance just so they could have a conversation with him. (I really wanna see those love confession scenes…hahaha)
- He also talked about Kitamura Takumi who gave him pickled dried plum during the filming and told him “Though I may not appear like that [to you], I’m [actually] extremely happy that I get a chance to co-star with you.” Captain himself was also very happy to co-star with Kitamura.
- While he is happy that the audience asked if he’ll do another sequel or not, the level of preparation/determination required [for the filming of this drama] is really on another level when compared to the other works. So, his feeling towards the talk about another sequel is like “Chotto matte kudasai” lol
- Then he moved on to “Masquerade Night”, which just wrapped up filming right before this interview.
- He again talked about a middle-aged staff who has about 100 movie t-shirts. Because he himself has almost 40 t-shirts, he tried wearing them to the filming set, too.
- While he just meaninglessly chose the t-shirt to wear based on his morning mood, he wore the relatively expensive one for the movie crank up.
- He didn’t just buy any movie t-shirts. They have to be from his favorite movies and well-designed. That’s why he was very happy when he found the t-shirt from “The Outsiders”.
- While he posted them on Instagram from time to time, there’re still many of them that he was unable to introduce yet.
- “In the future, if I have a chance to participate in a movie filming set, I’d like to introduce [the movie t-shirts] again. While some items that I already wore this time might make an appearance again, I’m thinking about wearing the new items, too, so those who are interested, please look forward to it.”
(Is this some kind of a porori from him? 👀 Yes, I’m so desperate for hints! LOL!)
- Because he didn’t think that he’d be able to step on that incredible lobby set of Hotel Cortesia Tokyo once again, he was deeply filled with emotions.
- They packed the story that develops over 4-5 days in the original novel into 1 day in the movie. So, he thinks the movie becomes condensed/rich in content.
- He got a chance to challenge something for the first time in the movie. Based on the character setting, during his childhood, Nitta took a certain dance lesson from his father who opposed him becoming a police detective. So, Captain felt the pressure of having to show that his [dance] skills are better than a beginner.
- There’s a scene in which he dances with an instructor at the beginning of the movie and also a scene in which he dances with his co-star in the middle.
- When he was filming “Kyojo 2”, Director Suzuki visited the filming set. So, he asked “What are you doing here?” Then, Director Suzuki told him that the lessons for his co-stars started on that day. He was surprised that the team already started working even when he hasn’t finished filming Kyojo 2 yet. His co-stars took the lesson for more than 20 times. That’s just how difficult the lesson is. For him personally, because he has experience in dancing before, he thought that this time he should be able to handle it. However, the instructor started the lesson by telling him “Please leave all the experience you have had until now aside for the time being”.
- The first and the second lessons, which started from zero, made him feel like “hmm? Is this for real? Ehh, I’m really no match for this.”
- He attended the actual filming after taking the lesson for 7 times, but he frankly told the Director “Give me a break!” lol He just did all he could and was unsure of the final outcome.
- What surprised him during the filming is how the lighting staff suddenly asked him “Kimura-san, aren’t you going to film [a movie]? I want to see a film by Kimura-san.” While he jokingly responded with “I’m not thinking about that yet.”, the staff said to him “If you are going to film [a movie], please be sure to call me.” Even if it’s just a thought [from staff], he simply felt grateful for it.
- Then, he talked about how he became a monthly fortune watcher in the show "Totsuzen desuga uranattemo ii desuka?" and how he enjoys doing the show "Kimura-saaan!" even though some projects made him feel “Why [do I have to do this]?” lol
- While he continues doing such shows, once he finished the filming of “Kyojo 2” and “Masquerade Night”, he felt like he lost his enthusiasm/a sense of competing/challenging something. So, he turned that fire on his body and gradually his muscle training had heated up until he felt pain on his body.
Then comes an important part! 🙂
- He said that he however used this period to start gathering some materials for everyone to make a noise together. (YES A CONCERT!)
- While he can’t make it public yet, he mentioned that he has recorded 2 songs composed by a certain artist under a directing by a certain person. He joked that it can’t be helped that he really wants to tell everyone soon. If everyone asks him who the certain person is, he’ll feel impatient. (Sasuga, the king of porori…hahaha)
- The fact that he was surrounded by such surprisingly great artists made him feel so small. He fully enjoyed such luxurious feeling of being like a junior, which is something he is unable to taste at the normal filming set. Then, he asked fans to look forward to the day when we all can make a noise with all our might together with him.
- Lastly, he said he felt grateful that it seems a lot of fans ordered C&C original t-shirts. He himself plans to wear it on stage when he can do a live concert again.
