Two Girls and a Lada Country
Я ведь совсем забыла поделиться ссылкой на блог наших друзей - двух американок, которые ведут English Cafe в Екатеринбурге - клуб для изучающих английский язык (о нем можно прочитать здесь).
Их зовут Rebecca Rinehart и Amanda Housand. Вот что они пишут о себе:
"Becca is a goofy girl from the small town of Orange, Texas. Amanda is a fun-loving girl from her beloved Charleston, South Carolina. We both love to read, spend time outdoors, hang out with friends, play/watch sports and try new things. We have a thirst for adventure, which is no surprise considering we moved halfway around the world!
We have started this blog as a means to highlight cultural differences between Russia and America as well as share our interesting experiences. You can help by inviting us to your favorite places in the city, so that we can see life through a Russian’s perspective".
Девчонки живут в Екатеринбурге уже второй год, по-русски пока не говорят, и блог тоже весь на английском. Пишут о самых простых вещах, о своих наблюдениях, о своих поездках. Довольно любопытно, вот, например, цитата из последнего поста, про активный отдых в России:
"Something that was surprising to me was seeing people work out in what I would deem as “inappropriate” attire for such activity. Until moving here, the only time I’d seen someone exercising in Converse shoes, for example, was in a movie- set in the early to mid 1900s! Granted, it’s expensive to keep up with the latest trends in exercise apparel, and you can sweat just as easily on a much tighter budget in a regular t-shirt. No need to spend mega-bucks on the latest “breathable, sweat-wicking, stretchy” materials, but I would never even think about playing football or volleyball in jeans (I’ve seen it)".
