On dreams

Had two dreams while I was asleep just now. One was at the end, and was this really weird dream that I think was my version of a Final Fantasy plot, and I don't remember much about it aside from (dust off your TVtropes, folks):

The Chick discovering that the Lancer was intended to evolve into this evil thing of evil, and since she loved him, tried to stab him through the gut with a sword to prevent it from happening (all tearfully apologizing while doing it, of course).

The Lancer, in reflex self defense, stabbing her in the process, possibly killing her (this was just before I woke up, so I didn't see anything much beyond this).

And of course the Protagonist, coming up on this scene from behind the Lancer, sees the Lancer kill the Chick he loves, and stabs the Lancer in the back with his own sword... and as everyone stops to look at each other in realization of what's about to happen, that's where I wake up.

Very frustrating dream, lemme tell you.

The dream I had BEFORE that, though. Oh man, that was a fun dream. The first Leverage movie. An actual movie, too. And it was a prequel. Eliot Spencer, 5 years before the start of the series.

The dream movie focused on Eliot right at the tail end of his actual paramilitary days, when he was already wanting to get out of the life. And of course there winds up being a hostage situation at a resort, and Eliot has to go in and save the day. But since this was a prequel, this is not the Eliot Spencer we all know and love today. Nope, he was still using guns in those days, and killing if needed.

So the dream movie wound up being this awesome action-packed summer blockbuster, of Eliot going through a resort hotel full of bad guys, running and gunning and kung fu fighting his way through all of them, all while dealing with wanting to get out of this life. There were the prerequisite character moments, including a meeting at the end where you realize that one of the hostages was Eliot's father, and of course Eliot was ashamed that his father saw that vicious side of himself.

I'm not sure what else happened in the dream, but it was pretty standard combination of the awesomeness of Leverage, with Die Hard. MUCH better first dream than second. That second dream still weirds me out. What is up with my subconscious?
