My mother hurriedly opens the gate and hugs me tightly. I smile and hug back.
“What happened to you? Did anything bad happen? I’ve been worried about you for so many weeks!”
I sigh and smile.
“I explained everything to you already, I’m very okay.”
My mother carries my luggage in and I follow her as I hear her sigh.
“Ay nako, alam mo, nung bumalik sina Carlos tsaka si Kat, pinagalitan ko sila! Bakit ka nila iniwan?! Jusko, huwag ka muna magpakita sa kanila!”
“Ma, okay na’ko. Oo, kasalanan din nila, pero mabuti rin na hindi ako sumabay.”
“Ha?”
My phone vibrates, indicating that I have a message on Kakao Talk. I open it and read.
Hey, baby. I’m still busy with work but wondering if you’re already in Manila. Call me so I’ll know. xx
I smile and sit on the couch, ignoring my mother’s nagging and ranting.
I’m Jung Marj, 18 year-old college student and just found a boy who’ll make my everyday brighter.
