So.. I've been living in VIenna for a week now.. and 15 other weeks await me.
I have to honestly say.. the first days were pure hell! I grew up in a small city, went to University in a relatively small city... and then my teacher told me, I got a stipendium to Vienna for 4 months, and I thought: why not.. could be fun, it's also my major.
WRONG!!! IT's terrible! So so so many people rushing form one place to another! So crowdy everywhere, and smokers on every corner!
Worst thing? I know NOBODY!!! A gril, from a small city comes to a big city without knowing a soul... how crappy is that?
And it gets worse!
Because of some technicalities, I wasn't even supposed to come, than I did come, but had no rom in dorms anymore, so I had to look up for a private accomodation. I found 2 places, for a similar price. I wanted to go and see those places, but m parent were like: No, it's unnecessary! It'd be a waste of money, you will simply choose and then live there.
I did, what they wanted me to do, so here I was, with my laptop, by big suitcase at 3 PM in Vienna going to my 'future home'... horrible!!
It was a room, bare, with a closet, glass table and a 'couch'... it was sooooo old the couch, i saw dust bunnies everywhere, I had no pillows, no blanket - really bad.
So I told the girl, I'd look for another place, but I most probably woudl stay there.
So I went to the other place, amazing! big, roomy, alone, 2 bed and everything. BUt the woman, who rents the room was there with her family, so I could'nt sleep there. OS I went back to the other place, saying: Unfrotunately I have found another palce, could I plase sleep here over the night? I'll pay. (note it was around 7PM and it was dark).
And her answer was no! I begged but she didnt budge. I had to go out. A girl, with laptot, suit case, outside alone with no place to sleep.
I called my parents- my mother was hysterical and started crying, dad was almost in the car- willing to drive several hours to get me. But I told them, that I'd look for a hotel room.
I called the lady with the awesome room, asking for refugee.
And believe it or not, hse was so kind, she sent her family back, to let me sleep there!!
No I live there am so happy iwth the place and very grateful to her, for giving me a roof to sleep under.
