A/N: Um, I'm not really sure about this one. I like the idea, but I'm not so sure about the outcome...
I think I'm too addicted to Mihara Mitsukazu, that explains a lot.
I don't even know what to write, sooo... I hope You'll like it and that somehow You'll get the point. Enjoy <3
She was staring.
Heechul rose his eyes and looked at the girl sitting in front of him. She smiled, waved lightly and continued to stare. He nodded his head and pretended that the book he was holding was oh-so-interesting. He was glad he was wearing a hat - he could observe the girl without her noticing.
She was wearing a long, short sleeved black&white dress with a lot of laces and ribbons, the upper half of the dress resembled a corset. She had a white, thin scarf, probably long enough to reach her waist but it was put loosely around her neck and shoulders. Also, she was wearing a half-transparent gloves. She was sitting on a low railing in front of his bench.
And staring at him.
The strange thing was he didn’t feel bothered or weird, he found the girl interesting. He changed his possition and turned the page of the book he was holding. He didn’t even know, what was it about. He eyed the girl once again. Her skin was perfectly white and smooth. Her hair was long and a bit curly.
Also, he noticed lastly, she was barefeet.
- Do You happen to need something from me? - Heechul finally asked, closing his book. He stretched his legs and fixed his gaze on girl’s face. She smiled shyly.
- Not really. Just thought You look friendly.
He tilted his head to the right and stared at her for few seconds. Did she just say that he, Kim Heechul, looks FRIENDLY? Wow.
- So? - he asked rising his eyebrow.
Her shoulders moved up and down. She started waving her legs back and forth. Heechul watched as wind played with her long, black hair. One moment, as the wind shifted her scarf a bit, he saw a long, ugly bruise on her neck. Her hair soon got back to it’s original position and he wasn’t sure anymore, if he saw the scar or was it just some kind of shadow.
He opened his book once again. He changed his possition. He started swaying his leg. He took off and then put again on his hat. He clicked his tongue. He played with his hair. He changed his possition once again. And again started swaying his leg. The girl was watching blankly somewhere behind him, moving her feet back and forth.
Finally, he closed the book, put it aside and, irritated, looked back. The girl smiled widely and stood up, she started walking towards the view Heechul was taking in at the moment. He sighed. The girl continued walking. He sighed. She was further away. He sighed, stood up and followed her, rubbing his neck.
- What the fuck are You doing, Kim Heechul? - he whispered to himself as he walked through the lawn.
The ferris wheel was enormous. Heechul couldn’t see the top of it as he stood in front of it. He didn’t have much time to admire the view, because the girl was already getting on. He quickly joined her and observed as she glued herself to the glass wall, when it started moving.
- I always wanted to ride it - she said not turning her head away from the view.
When they reached the top, the ferris wheel stopped. The girl sat in front of Heechul and simply looked at him. Heechul gave her a what-is-it-now look and on the city beneath them. The view was indeed breathtaking. He stared at the streets, buildings, little people walking, running, cars driving. He wondered if all those people realized they look so stressed and worried from up here. He saw a girl helping an old lady with her bags and a boy waving hapily at his friends. Well, maybe not all the people were as miserable as he thought.
He surely was, sometimes.
- They all have a dream to achieve, even if they think they already lost it - the girl suddenly spoke looking down on the same spot Heechul was.
- That’s natural for people to have dreams. Just some of them aren’t strong enough to achieve them - Heechul murmured as an answer not looking up.
- They all have high hopes and big dreams. Is it normal, when someone’s dream is as ridiculous as riding a ferris wheel?
Heechul bit his lip before saying anything.
- Well, actually, why not? Some dream about being rich and famous, some about big healthy family, some about a new game or a dog. Why not a ride? It all depends on what You cherish in Your life, I guess.
She thought about his words for a while before replying.
- What does it make me, then, if my dream was to ride a ferris wheel? And that I don’t have anything new in mind now?
- A simple person, doesn’t it? - He didn’t know why, but he smiled at her. Suddenly he felt as if he knew her for a very long time. Also, he felt she must be a very lonely person. He realized he doesn’t even know her name.
-Oh, I don’t have a name - she said before he even asked - You can give me one if You feel like it, though.
- How do others address You then?
- Usually they just don’t.
Heechul just nodded, lost in what to say. The ferris wheel started moving again and they reached the end of the ride in silence.
When they got off the girl headed to riverside. Not thinking much Heechul simply followed her again.
They sat on the grass and watched the river, again in silence.
It was another chance for Heechul to examine the girl. He noticed her skin wasn’t as perfect as he thought in the begining - it was indeed white, but it was rather unhealthy livid that beautifuly pale. Also, she had many little, almost invisible scars on her arms and neck, probably on her legs too, but that wasn’t a given as he couldn’t see her legs. He wondered where did they come from, but he couldn’t, shouldn’t ask. Still, he was curious.
- I’d like to be able to go there one day - she said looking across the river.
- We can go now, if You want - Heechul answered absent-mindedly as he was still concentrated on trancing the little imperfections of her skin.
- I can’t, it’s too far away.
- Aren’t You big enough to decide where to go, if You want?
- I don’t really know about that, I’ve been around only for few days.
He wondered what she meant but didn’t ask.
Heechul laid on the grass and watched the clouds thinking about everything he had to do this day. There was a lot of work waiting for him in the evening. Meanwhile the girl stood up, got near the water and started picking up some stones from the ground.
- They’re really pretty, can I keep them?
He just nodded amused by her question.
- You know, You’re a nice person.
Heechul sat up hearing her words.
- You’re the first one ever to stay with me like this. Not leaving after looking at me this much.
He blinked, surprised. She noticed his behaviour and wasn’t mad about it? She even said he was nice.
- I’m sorry, I just wondered where all those little scars came from, didn’t mean to be rude, really.
- My father made me like this. They were always there.
He laid himself back on the grass. Wasn’t he supposed to find her scary, creepy or at least weird? He should. Instead he thought she was nice and he’d like to keep her company a little longer.
They stayed like this, in silence, Heechul looking at the sky, the girl collecting colorfull rocks for a bit more.
- Don’t You have a schedule, a work to do?
- Yeah.
He didn’t move. He felt calm, rested, relaxed and didn’t want to change it. Going to work equals stress which equals lost of this peace he felt.
- You should go. Dissapointing others isn’t something beautiful people do.
He sighed silently and stood up.
- I guess not.
He walked away leaving the mysterious girl by the river. Somehow he felt relieved, as if spending half of the day with an unusual person like her had some power of putting his heart in ease. He was calm.
He was thankfull.
I'm sorry /hides
