An unexpected revelation
I have read Pratchett's "Interesting Times" lots of... times, sorry... and there was one small detail which I never understood -- the gag about very old eggs sold in Hunghung.
It took listening to the book on audio to get it through my thick skull: they were selling "fowl" eggs -- and fowl was transformed into "foul".
In my defense, I can only say that I could never have expected such a foul pun from Pratchett. From Flint, yes, but not in Discworld.
