i haven't posted in a really long time, nor am i keeping up on the posts of others. i just watched obama's most recent speech about race, though, and i was absolutely blown away. i think it was the most moving and correct speeches i have ever seen given by a politician. in any case, i found this response:

on a conservative blogging site. The article is to be expected, and the comments are disgusting but this one made me want to absolutely scream. "Orlandocajun" writes the following:
"The most eloquent speech ever given by a race hustler. Obama has made his campaign about his race. He's
just much more polished than his bretheren (Sharpton and Jackson). Try to imagine John McCain talking about
the trials and tribulations of the white man and how that would play in the MSM. Only blacks can get away
with that crap.
"You don't hear any other ethnic group whining about racial oppression. Maybe that's because they work hard
and pursue their goals without whining about whitey holding them back. If blacks want race to cease to be
an issue in this country, it is they who have to stopping making it one.
"He made a big mistake in my opinion. He's alienated enough white support to lose the election.
He's toast."
There are no words for the disgust I feel at a statement like this. Why do people like this exist? And how you can feel like THAT after actually listening to the speech??! I guess maybe this person didn't. I don't know. I am just so... disturbed.
