A fool, or fool-ish?

I really wanted to talk about recycling today. I've been obsessing over this for a while. Do we burn more energy RECYCLING the item than we do harvesting the virgin resource??

The results are closer than your conscience might be leading you to think - (except in the case of metals which are ABSURDLY energy intensive to get out of the ground as you might imagine if you've ever held a rock in your hands).

But c'est la vie! There was just NO time today, what with running around quelling errant pranks 'n all, to get that kind of research together and ready!

Instead, I thought I'd highlight another kind of foolishness. Unlike recycling (which some economists argue is a bad idea that just makes you FEEL good), this fear driven decision is simply hemorrhaging good people's time and money. This is 100% REAL. I hope it is every bit as bone-chilling to you as it is to me! I don't care if you're of the school that creating meaningless jobs for people is somehow virtuous towards like total employment or something, this kind of irresponsible thoughtlessness and gross waste makes me wish I could puke on command.

And burn the whole bagful on the doorstep of some British policy makers. See for yourself!!
