Celebrities in commercials

Yeah, that's not new. Using popular celebrities to promote an event or product is quite common.
But it's the celebrities in particular that I've seen in Japanese commercials that I thought was strange/interesting... unexpected??

Tommy Lee Jones for Boss Canned Coffee?
Cameron Diaz and Hilary Duff for SoftBank?
...
I guess this was touched upon in Lost in Translation during the "Suntory Whiskey" commercial. lol
They kinda make me laugh. But really... how much money do they get for these things??!

But anyway I wrote this entry to talk about a celebrity from Japan doing commercials that have been coming on recently.
Fiber Neo's "Uno" with Odagiri Joe by Shiseido. I've only seen a couple movies by him, but he seems like an interesting guy (lol).

So, in these commercials the "story" seems to be him working at Shiseido as a new employee and of course when the camera follows him around th office herds of women are hanging around to find out what he's doing. But the end of the commercials are all the same with some weird gold-painted back-up dancers and はでな (I couldn't think of the English word..? flashy? loud?) clothes. It's for some hair product.

On a note relating to Steph's entry about weird title for a book, the portion of Shiseido's website dedicated to this product has a page just for the line he's promoting, and the game involves "finding OJ's [Odajiri Joe's] balls." ~_~ It's some weird thing to view all the commercials he did for it. But to find them you have to look around this supposed 24-hour video feed of him at his "cubicle" in the company. I felt like playing this game was kind of voyeuristic since if you don't click the exercise balls around the screen to view the commercials, it's just playing the video of him "working" in his cubicle.

I don't know if these commercials really worked to get guys to buy the hair product, but perhaps its aim is to get the girlfriends of these boys (and fangirls of OJ) to buy them for their boyfriends. HAHA *le sigh*

This is the progression of the ending clip for the commercials... you might just want to check it out to hear the funky music. lol

I don't know what kind of dance that is.. weird..

This pose for some reason reminded me of Alan LOL

Sleepy, "man I've got such flat, straight, boring hair"-look.

"Oooh, no problems now."
(Outfit... what the heck?)

「軽いのに、決まる。」 karui noni, kimaru. To my understanding in this context, it's something like, "Even if your hair is light, [uno] will fix it." Yeah, it's a little catchier in Japanese.
What a tagline.

Tomorrow: Gamagori? Hopefully! If it doesn't rain. It got gloomy this afternoon and sprinkled a little.
Wednesday: Get OLIVIA's CD. Get souvenirs. Get Nyanko(?!). Get cream-pan. Last-minute shopping~
Thursday: Last day of class. Go to 学生課 to make reservations for taxi. Give speech(!). Take lots of farewell photos.
Friday: Hopefully finished cleaning...!!!! Leave for airport~ OMG!
