Cooking Chronicles!
This is not a food blog or anything, but lately I've felt like I've wanted to try making food a lot this quarter.
And so, here is a picture entry for your enjoyment! Weeeeee colors!

Tempura night!
I've never made tempura before, and I even have panko mix that I bought back when I was in Hawai'i at Costco (for probably no other reason than that I've never seen Costco in CA sell panko flakes... probably because the population in Hawai'i is largely Japanese/Asian). I also had tons of random vegetables in my fridge that I could use for it, and Leah came over to eat with me :)
Isn't the array of veggies beautiful?! :D :D
After dipping them in the batter and frying a few of them!
Leah insisted :)
Rebecca joined us later for our impromptu dinner. (explanation for the 3rd plate)
Close-up of my plate!: green peppers, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, eggplant. Yummy! Too bad I didn't have any shrimp.

Taco night!
Rebecca and I came home Thursday night, and Anna had just bought some corn tortillas. She offered them to us because they could go bad quickly, and Rebecca thought we should make tacos!
She had the spices, and chicken, and ... tomato (oh wait, so did I!), and cabbage, and avocado.. Basically I provided nothing for dinner, but I just helped making guacamole. [I forgot I had chips too]
Shredded seasoned chicken
OK... so the cabbage was an odd thing for the tacos. It was some thing from 99 Ranch. It wasn't watery, and it was sweet.
Homemade guacamole, chips, and tacos! :D (My delicious Barq's in view, as well as my Urinetown designs! LOL)
I was cooking/preparing food in my blazer. WTF?

Omuraisu = Omelette rice
So this is the Japanese adaptation of an omelette. There's rice, ketchup, and pieces of meat, and well, egg.
I didn't really take progress pictures, but of the final product. I remember reading about these things in MeruPuri and decided to find a "recipe" for it. :) Next time I need to make sure I cooked the rice all the way through...
On a random note... why am I being so emo lately? I require too much love and attention and am too afraid to reach out to get what I want :(
