A Small Unforgotten Memory
I remember the day I got to know you
It would change my life forever, yet this was unknown
I had nothing to read, write, see or do
When we got close, so close, our love was overthrown
We would talk about school, TV, and books
And all your words and stories, told with grace
Made me know you didn't care about looks
So I felt my heart fall into place
But now all I have is this memory of you
You were taken from and I couldnt believe this truth
I only have a simple little memory, yet it'll have to do
The course of true love never runs smooth
This memory I will never forget one bit.
Your last words to me saying," Without you I am like a candle unlit."
(Every time I read this one it brings me to tears. Its not my best, in fact because of the type of poem it is...sonnet I think, I wasn't able to write...more expressively in a way I guess. It may seem dull and boring, but I see beyond that, I see the value, I see the cost that it took for me to write that.)
