You know, sometimes I wonder... if we're doing fics about real historical people, using actual history, can one still consider it fiction? :)

Ah, hehe. The Little Entente one was intended to be a fanfic, but as I mentioned, I couldn't even come up with enough words for that. There's actually so much more to the story I want to give - the angst factor for Hungary is way up for that one, and I love drama. Hopefully I'll get to return to that, but I think I'll focus most of my energy on something else first.

History is my inspiration. :D And it does help that I loved Austria as a country ever since I was a kid (back then, for Trapp Family reasons, hah). Visiting Salzburg and Vienna last 2008 was one of my biggest dreams come true, and it sparked off an interest in Austrian history for me - I never even knew about the Habsburgs prior to that! Sometimes I wonder how much more I would appreciate my visit if I already knew about APH back then. The hotel I stayed at is near St. Stephen's Cathedral - I probably would have swooned at the thought that I was standing on the very spot where Roderich fought for Erzsébet... <3

I hope I get another opportunity to visit Europe, because I'm definitely going to try to make it to Budapest this time!

Haha~

Yeah, I have a thing for Hungary and Romania duking it out, too, so ♥

History is awesome! I unfortunately am not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be on a lot of things. Before Hetalia I loved history classes, but I never went out and bought history books to read on my own time. So I'm way behind!

Okay I am officially jealous. Like really jealous. I've only been to Europe once, and while it was awesome, I only got to stay for a week, and a day of that was eaten up by flights. Also this was longer ago, in 2006. I got 4 days in France and 2 in Germany and I am busting my ass to learn German and go back, as of now I intend on eventually staying permanently. From there traveling Europe would be a lot easier, too! The only downfall is the shipping Hell I'll have when ordering doujinshi/figures/etc.

I wonder if Himaruya would ever get around to drawing Hungary's neighbors? I'd really like to see more strips about her, and her history is very much intertwined around these countries as much as with Austria.

I loved history classes as well, but living in Asia, we didn't really get to discuss much about history other than those in Asia. Oh, we went through the Greece and Roman empires, plus a bit on the European Theatre of WW1 and WW2, but not much further detail than that. We didn't even discuss much about Spain, and they were our colonizers for hundreds of years!

I admire your determination to be able to stay permanently in Germany. Opportunities for me is rather low in that regard (lol). Had you gone there on vacation?

You seriously don't have to be jealous of me. I've also only been there once. I was in Frankfurt am Main for 2 months on a working trip, so I was really only able to go sightseeing during the weekends, which wasn't all that good at all. It was fun, sure - I mean, I never dreamed I would even be able to get there, and seeing all the sights you only see on books was just amazing. But in the end, that was all we ever did. Go somewhere, head immediately for the most popular tourist spots, take pictures, and leave. No time to digest anything at all, which isn't really what one would want when one goes sightseeing. (>_<)

The few times we dared to actually learn the history behind something, we almost missed the train going back to Frankfurt. (^^;) I can still remember running as fast as I can to the train station from Schonbrunn, and then hoping that train was fast enough to reach Wien Südbahnhof in time for the ICE. I eventually busted my ankle because of those events.

Ever since then, I swore that if I'm ever going back to Europe for sightseeing, I'll make sure that I'm on vacation leave. That, and I'm definitely going to return to the cities I've already been, if only so that I could appreciate them better. The only problem would be that I would have to spend my own money on that trip, which is expensive. So I highly doubt I'll be able to return anytime soon. Urgh.

I do hope so! I really want to see a Romania. The various missing Balkans would be nice, too, and more Bulgaria plz.

It's like that everywhere, it seems. Only focusing on your nation's history, maybe neighboring countries/the general region. It's a shame.

Aw, that's too bad! Still sounds like fun, though. I went with my French class, but it was a vacation type thing ♥
