"we only get two great loves in our life."
as i was sitting in my living room watching a sex and the city re-run, Charlotte said this. The girls got into a conversation about it, and I started thinking.
What if that's true? I mean, that is how the saying goes. Is it true that we only get two great loves? Or even just one? Because if we get two, just two, am I done? Great love changes your life forever, and I can say without a doubt I have had two great loves. Everyone runs around quoting Hollywood saying that they'll find "the one," but what if they don't? Is there really a 50/50 split of men and women in this world? Because if not, then my favorite chick flicks have really let me down. What if some of us don't find this "one?" And then, what scares me most....what if there isn't a "one" out there for me? You know, you dream about it all the time, you pray, you hope for it, you crave it with everything you have, but will you really get it? Will I be just that fortunate to have three great loves in my life? Or even four before i find "the one?" Will I get another one at all? Because its almost a sure-fire bet I won't get one of the two great loves back, one of which I don't even want back. So will I get the one back? Will he realize what he's missing? Or am I the one missing out?
...I'm scared.
