Because the occasional fandom essay is good for the fangirl soul

I wrote this in response to milo04's comment to my last entry and was going to leave it as a reply, but I think it might be too long to fit in a single reply. Thus, I'm making it its own entry. Apparently, when I really get into a topic, I write more and faster. If only my papers were this easy to write.

Ya, I wasn't sure if the British Office was still running as I've only seen the first two seasons, and than got overwhelmed in school and barely watch tv anymore. I still miss episodes of Lost and Grey's Anatomy! BAH ( ... )

This reply is only, like, two weeks late. Whatever. =P

Anyway, I really appreciated your response. I haven't actually seen the British Office, so I was admittedly talking out of my ass for most of this entry, so it was good to hear the POV of someone who's seen it.

Yes, the US version has scripts although I hear there's some improv that goes on. Personally, I think that the subtle movements are so natural that it's difficult to tell what's scripted and what's improvised.

As for Steve Carell, I think you're kind of right, especially in the earlier episodes. He was trying a little too hard. What makes the show what it is, IMO, though, are the supporting players. I probably wouldn't keep watching if it wasn't for the other awesome cast members.

And don't sell yourself short. You made some great points. =)
