Christmas Eve

Dec 24, 2005 16:02

This is the most different Christmas I've had in my life. My feelings of family closeness and love has never been stronger. I've never been so conscientious of celebrating for what we have in this time, the light in the darkness, the food on the table, the love between us people ( Read more... )

Merry Christmas to you to. I know what it is like to struggle financially over Christmas, it can be challenging, the crash that led to my depression involved bankruptcy and food banks. Right around the holiday time to boot - Christmas via food bank is not so much fun. Not enough money to do anything, even a token for your families, and not able to spend time with them being unable to travel to be with them. It's always good to keep track of what really matters in the lean time. This is the first year in years and years where we won't have a struggle over the holidays, we can just manage to do it. Even so, the important stuff is about the love, and not about the 'stuff'. Here's hoping things bring you both wealth and happiness in the new year. I hope Brandon feels better soon. We don't know you super well, but our thoughts are with you over the holidays too. XO

Thank you Katt, Merry Christmas!
The harder the lesson the more you learn sometimes and I don't think I'll every forget this year. It's been tough yet surprisingly easy once you let go of buying gifts and what you're going to get.
You quickly feel the reason for it all.
I mean, we got the tree, we got dinner and we were sponsered for a christmas hamper so we had some presents for Brandon. That's all you need, that and some cookies and traditions for Santa.

It sounds like you're blessed, indeed. People and kitties and love are what really counts, not stuff. Merry Christmas!

cripes, I reread what I wrote and it does come across...judgemental, it's not what I meant. I'm more working out my own issues/letting go of my greed and attachements.
You definitely are lucky you sexy wife you ;)
