When you're smart...
people expect you to do things like get advanced degrees. I was watching a Phoenix college commercial, and I hear them say things like "I wanted to be the first in my family to get a degree" or "Going to school taught me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it". But what I want to know is where is my kudos. No one in my family has ever said to me congrats on your degrees, it was just assumed that I was the smart one and I would do it. Now I'm having a little bit of anxiety about the Doctoral degree, I only have three more classes, two academic classes and the preparation for the comprehensive exam class. I'm stuck.
It's not the end of the world but it's annoying, I want someone to be behind me encouraging me.
But in good news, only two more sleeps til I'm in Paris again!!!
And probably back to Buffalo for a seminar in July.
