Weekend
For a weekend that was almost ruined through the combined efforts of the Canadian Postal system, and my whiney nature, I think that it turned out fabulously. I went down to majes house for a Spring celebration in three parts. I played games (part 1) which I miss terribly since I don’t consider solitaire a game as much as a time wasting event. I got to eat some fabulous homemade food (part 2) and get the chocolate fountain up and running, as an experiment.
The chocolate fountain project was nearly a bust considering I have the cooking ability of a newt (that is to say NONE) but luckily there were others avivasedai and perldiver who not only brought more chocolate, but also were able to melt it without burning it. (It’s amazing what an improvised dutch oven can do to help). However next time we definitely need at least 3 lbs of chocolate in order to have the fountain be continuous and not spotty.
And the evening activities included a lot of great conversation (part 3), especially on the topic of “masculine wiles”, and snuggling and fondling with new and established folks. It amazes me (I don’t know why) every time I head out to a social event that the night invigorates me so much and there’s a renewal of my spirit that happens. I think in the mid- and recent past I have been in relationships that are more introverted in nature and I wilt. Like a flower without sun. Hopefully this will remind me to get out and see people and enjoy their company.
Of the people that I got to see/meet wispfox, jasra, and others that I don’t really know the lj names of but were fantastic to hang with.
