and it was ~fascinating

Man, my ears are still ringing. Laying in bed last night, I swear the ringing sounded like guitars.

So, the concert was pretty cool. And loud.

I didn't really like High on Fire (one of the opening bands). They were alright, I guess. I don't know, I didn't find them memorable, except when the lead singer spit on the security guard. And I didn't even see that, Ali had to yell in my ear what had happened.

I thought Converge was pretty cool, except my friends didn't. I don't know, I kind of LIKED that he was spazzing and jumping around the sage. It gave us something to really look at. The guitarist was kind of annoying, though. IDK. The audience was at a really low point during their performance. But I didn't think they were all that bad.

Mastadon was alright. Not bad. I didn't find them all that memorable, either, I guess. Except this one part was really annoying, when there was downtime and they were playing this uber-loud keyboard echo thing. I don't know what it was, but it was intense in a not-as-great way.

Did I mention we were standing like 5 feet from the ten foot tall amps and speakers?

Dethklok was freaking awesome, not suprisingly. I mean, that's what everyone came for, right? Behind the band, they were showing music videos and clips from Metalocalypse, I think. This guy next to me with a bandanna and a mohawk was moshing for a few seconds, and was pretty active the whole way through. He should have been more towards the middle, I think. He was cool, though. I kind of felt bad about not getting into the music and all. You know, nodding my head, pumping my first, etc.

It was pretty rad. And loud.

But I don't know, I like it loud. Like, when you can actually feel the music in your body and, for lack of better phrasing, can "get lost in it".

I can't say I would have paid for these tickets, but I'm super glad I went. If not for the fact that I can claim that I've finally been to a concert-concert (and I've probably knocked five years off my hearing), it was an amazing experience.

Uh. YAY.
