Saigo no Yakusoku - Favorite scene translated

Jan 09, 2010 16:58

Just finished watching Saigo no Yakusoku and thought I'd share a quick translation of my favorite scene.

** SPOILERS AHEAD **

It's the one where all the boys are crawling through the ductwork towards the end, at about 1:39:35 in the drama.

It was a very short scene, but I loved watching them interact.  They played roles somewhat similar to their own personas (personae?) as Arashi members.  Aiba is his sunny self, insisting things went well.  Nino is fanning the flames and causing trouble as always.  Matsumoto is the diva/drama queen.   Sakurai is in setsumei mode (lol), giving us backstory to fill in any gaps in our knowledge.  And Ohno interjects when necessary, ever the quiet leader.

You could see that they had good chemistry and the scene came very naturally to them. XD

Ohno: This way, this way.

??:  Hurry

??: Okay, okay

[They crawl around in the ducts]

Aiba: Hey, hey.  A lot happened, but aren't you glad everything went well in the end?

Ohno: You think everything went well???

??:  ???

Nino [addressing Sakurai] : But what was up with looking at the camera demanding that the hostages be
released?  That was a no go.
Sakurai:  Sorry, but I couldn't put up with it anymore!

Ohno [addressing Matsumoto]: And anyhow, Goto [Matsumoto's character]!!  What's with trying to help the
president's daughter escape?  Your role ???? .

Matsumoto: Sorry, I really couldn't stand it.
Nino: Yeah, that was a no go.  That was the worst.

Aiba [addressing Matsumoto]: That was an act of utter betrayal, you know.

Matsumoto [addressing Aiba]: Anyway, I don't care if it was a blank [referring to ammunition], you didn't have
to shoot! That really hurt!!!!
Aiba: But that was because you came out swinging at me so suddenly!  [addressing others] But losing
consciousness like that would freak people out, right?

Nino: That was the number one no go of today.

Matsumoto:  I'm telling you, it really hurt!!

Sakurai: But he [Matsumoto] hasn't changed at all from the past.  During [soccer] matches, he'd always make
selfish plays like that.

Ohno: That's right.  You'd pass the ball to him and he'd never pass it back.

Nino: And when he ???, he'd blame others for it.

Matsumoto [addressing Nino]: Wait, wait.  To begin with, if you hadn't opened up the B2 entryway, all this
never would have happened in the first place!!

Nino: SEE!!  He's blaming someone else!

Aiba: You're hopeless.

Ohno: But the one who'd get mad at plays [selfish behavior] like that the most was Igita [their deceased friend,
the soccer captain].
[All pause to reflect for a second]

Nino [looking at his watch]: Crap.  It's time.  Let's go.

[All begin crawling again]

???:  Hurry, hurry, hurry.

???: All right, all right.
