Those crazy motivational soldiers from Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! are back! The original game was a massive international hit for the Nintendo DS, and Moero! Nekketsu Thythm Tama Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 ups the ante with new features and a new collection of J-pop hits. Up to 4 players can compete via wi-fi in either versus or co-op modes, but the single player mode is still more than enough to entertain, thanks to all-new situations complete with the trademark Ouendan wit and humor.
Like in the previous game, the "Ouendan" show up to help people through minor problems, striking manly poses to motivate the citizenry. Players have to use the DS touch screen and stylus to match the beat, sometimes tapping out the beat and other times dragging out the stylus in a predetermined path. Stay on beat, and the Ouendan succeed in helping people with their problems. Fail, and the Ouendan fail, with sometimes frustrating but always humorous results.

A big part of the first Ouendan was the infectious soundtrack, made up of classic Japanese pop hits. New songs have been selected for Ouendan 2, including Kibun Joujou by Mihimaru GT, "Oh, My Julia" by Checkers, "Go My Way" by Yaida Hitomi, "Bang! Bang!!" by SMAP, "VISTA" by Going Underground, "Shonen Heart" by Homemade Kazoku, "I Believe" by Ayaka, Okuru Kotoba by Flow, "Real Life Real Heart" by Kimura Kaela, Zenryoku Shonen by Sukima-Switch, and "Pop Star" by Hirai Ken.
