Location: Being Chased By A Bat Wielding Crazy...

OHMG!!!! I'm still shaking! My Saturday started out normally enough. S and I (and our dogs) went to NeiWan to look at a camp site for a planned get together with friends. We wanted to review it, get the phone number, and see where the place was. It was a really nice place: clean and in the middle of peace and quiet. There were cabins to rent or wooden platforms where we can pitch tents. There were washrooms for the boys and the girls and lots of grass and space - the most important feature of the place! I liked it immediately and took pictures to show Liz and Elsa what the place looked like. After being satisfied with the once over we left to go back home.

On the way home some gangster wannabes weaved back and forth behind us then came up and tailgated us(almost kissed our ass!). So naturally S brakes and slows down to try to get this guy off our back. This person is obviously looking for a fight because he passes us and starts waving a bat out the window threateningly. S tried to pass him but he wouldn't let us, he blocked us off and swerved to sideswipe us. I pulled out my camera and took a picture of the license plate. That must have pissed him off because he slows down and stops and makes us stop right behind him. Mr. I've-got-a-bat-and-some-friends jumps out of his car with another guy and some chick acting like she's some gangsta girl *rolling my eyes now in the after thought*. He waved his bat and yelled at us in Chinese. S had to back up in order to go around the other guy's car and the guy threw his bat at us and it hit the back trunk. They chased us into heavy traffic and S had to stop because traffic was stopped. They passed us on the opposite lane and waited for us several cars down. S had no choice but to drive dangerously in the opposing traffic. Mr. I've-got-a-bat-and-some-friends smashed our windshield as we passed him. These people don't give up easily either because they got into their car again and chased us all the way to the main road. All the while after taking the picture I'm trying to call the emergency number and the people there tell me to call another number because they can't help us. FREAKING CRIPES!! And when I finally call the right number they tell me to go to the Hsinchu Police Station. Uhm...being a total stranger to the area I'm supposed to know where it is as I'm being chased by a bat wielding crazy guy?! Mr. I've-got-a-bat-and-some-friends finally gave up the chase after about five minutes. S was going over 100K/hr and refused to slow down until we reached the Police Station by our neighborhood.

We made our statement and I gave the police officers the pictures I took from the digital camera of the license plate number of that nut. I also took pictures of the damage to the vehicle. We will be contacting the Canadian Trade Office (embassy) here as well to see what we can do about getting paid for damages made by the bat wielding (*edit*). We're also contacting the Foreign Affairs Police here. I'm still shaking inside...

Apparently we did the right thing by staying in the car and not getting out to confront them. It's better to let them damage our car because our lives are worth more than the car. Gia told me a similar experience she had when she was in the car with her brother. She told me about it after I told her what happened with S and I. I think they were going to leave us alone until I took the pictures because that seemed to really piss them off some more. Who knows what they would have done. Better safe than sorry. I'm glad I took those pictures. I have been told once that I'm either incredibly smart or incredibly stupid. I don't know, take your pick.
