Summary: Handcraft is not his strenght, still Fuma works on a surprise for Marius.
Fuma is so engulfed in his work that he doesn’t even realize how the door to his living room opened and Kento is stepping inside until the latter pokes his shoulder. “What?” Fuma mumbles, eyes staring at the cloth in front of him. He is trying to sew tiny bags out of them.
“What are you doing?” Kento asks curiously. “Did you forget that we wanted to meet to go through the lyrics of the new song?”
“Mhm.”
“What’s that?” Kento sits down too now, taking one of the finished tiny bags into his hands. He blinks. “Is there blood sticking to it?”
“Damn it,” Fuma’s eyes snap up at these words. “Really? I need to clean them later. You know, I accidentally hurt myself while sewing, so… the blood…”
“I see,” Kento nods, but the look in his eyes is still wary. When he suddenly grabs Fuma’s hand and stops him from proceeding with his work, Fuma finally looks at him directly. For the first time, he realises that his friend is actually here. “Okay, I need to know. What’s that?”
Fuma sighs but when Kento keeps tugging at his arm and asking the same question over and over again, he finally gives in. “I researched,” he stutters.
“Researched?”
Fuma rubs his head. “Yeah. It seems like in Germany, they have a certain tradition for Christmas. Or rather the time before. Like, they give some sort of thing with 24 doors, you know?”
“No I don’t. But why Germany?” Kento blinks, then he smiles suddenly. “Ah, Mari?”
“He had to give up a lot when he came to Japan. It’s a whole new culture, language and life here, so I thought maybe I could- you know-“ He tries not to blush. He tries really hard actually, but his cheeks feel weirdly warm.
“So you are making one of these thingies yourself and put presents in it?” Kento concludes calmly. “Cool. That’s actually cool.”
Fuma feels relieved all of a sudden. “Really?”
“Yeah, need help?”
“No,” Fuma says firmly and takes the bag out of Kento’s hand. “I want to finish it alone.”
Kento laughs but doesn’t say anything more about it. At the end of the day, Fuma has finished 24 little bags - they are deformed and the seam is loose, but who cares! He did it!! Now he just needs to buy 24 little presents… Should be pretty easy in comparison to the whole sewing. He wonders what kind of eyes Marius will make when he sees the present. Will they sparkle? Will he like it? Will he be happy? Fuma hopes he will.
