On monday afternoon we arrived in Hamburg. Hamburg is also the most famous German harbour. We spent the rest of the day walking about the city along the river Elbe. The next morning we went to a house called 'Dockland' to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately, the weather turned out to be bad, so we didn't see much of a sunrise. Still, 'Dockland' is worth to see. Afterwards we visited some museums (they were located in old ships) about shipping and emigration. In the afternoon we went to the 'Hamburg Dungeon' which is a mixture of history lesson and chamber of horrors with real actors. That was scary, funny and interesting, they told about the big fire there was in the city, the flood, the inquisition and also about the pirate Störtebeker. In the night we went to see the musical 'he lion king'. That was brilliant, the costumes, the actors, the scenery, the singing. The other day we went on a harbour boat cruise, which was interesting. You get quite near to those big cargo ships. Afterwards we went to 'Planten un Blomen' and park. It was nice, though nothing special. We spent the rest of the day in the shopping mall and in coffees.
The 'Speicherstadt' - this is the warehous district. Nowadays there are the headquarters of several companies, only a small part of it is still used as stores
Dockland - there's a big stair outside the building, leading to the viewpoint
