Of finals and Drawings...

Jun 01, 2009 21:01

My finals schedule has been switched around. I now have only five actual class-days left (though technically, it is eight). Hopefully the rest of this week and the two days of finals go by as fast as the past three months have. And after tomorrow, I can officially say I'll be done with two of my five classes. Three more to go.

I finally got my announcements over the weekend, and got most of them sent out. I still need to confirm one friend's address, and get it done for two other family members. Hopefully, they'll all be feeling cheap and guilty enough to just send me money. I know it sounds harsh, but it's the type of relationship we have. The money for graduating is the only gift I ever receive from them. I shudder to think about what types of actual gifts they would send my way.

My honor's regalia should be arriving tomorrow, and then I'll have to spend the night posing for pictures to send to family who live too far away. Blah, I hate pictures...

One of my friends contacted me the other day. Me and him go back a few years, having met in high school and both being inclined towards the arts. My forte always lay in writing, his in artwork. And boy, can he draw! It's been a good three or so years since we last collaborated on anything -- the first and last time having been for a studio making a video game that fell through. But apparently, he's been on quite the drawing kick and asked for one of my earlier poems to read over again. The piece is one of my longer ones, and the only one with a distinct fantasy setting. He needed a realistic fantasy piece for his portfolio, and had been dying to draw the image contained in that poem. When he finishes, I'll be sure to put up both his artistic rendition and my original poem.
