It's official -- Cabin Fever has struck. After being inside the house for three days straight, the breaking point has finally come. There's only so much I can do to keep from losing what is left of my mind and I have exhausted most of it. And hearing that my boyfriend is snowed in for the night up on Mt. Angel just makes it worse. He was supposed to be back tonight and we were supposed to go out, but it's too dangerous to be out driving.
How dangerous? Well, it just stopped snowing early this morning. Outside, there's a good 1-2 feet of snow. Of course, with a few inches of ice layered in-between. Yes, I should have been careful what I wished for because we did get the freezing rain in-between snow storms. And that's just here on the Valley Floor. There's at least 3-4 feet (or more) of snow up in the mountains. I only hope we don't lose power here which is a very good possibility. The trees are frozen solid which means most of them are cracking and falling down.
At least one good thing has come from this: there will be a White Christmas.
Sadly, because of how much snow there is and the fact it's supposed to start snowing again on Wednesday, Christmas for my family as been canceled. Just like I think it has been for 95% of the people stuck in the city. It's almost impossible to get anywhere, unless it's within walking distance. Planes can't really take off or land, it's dangerous to drive, and now, the draw bridges are frozen shut and ships and barges can't get out or in either.
::Sigh::
Can this December get any worse?
In somewhat better news, Meg got out of surgery all right and back home just fine. Hopefully that is her last hosiptal trip for at least six months. I hope her and her fiance manage to get to the town her family lives in for Christmas.
And in other somewhat better news, it looks like there might be two chapters for each story (aside from Allied Promises and Tales of the Night which will have more). Being stuck inside gives me a lot of time to do some writing. Not to mention, there will be some one-shots being posted, too.
However if updates don't get out on Christmas Eve, then the reason will be because we lost the power.
