Wednesday, at 1PM, it started snowing like mad. Soon everything was covered in snow, up to 6-7 inches. While I was in translation class, I was looking at the window, praying that I could get home (metro + train + car)
OH HOW FUCKED I WAS.HOW FUCKING FUCKED I WAS.
Three hours, it took me three hours to get home.
Train was five minutes late and was driving slowly very slowly, more than five minutes late in the end.
My father could not even reached the train station because of the traffic jam in the city. There were no buses in the whole city. We were literally stuck at the train station. I had to walk for more than thirty minutes in the blizzard to reach my father somewhere between home and the train station. I almost tripped/faceplanted at least thirty times :\ I did not feel my fingers and my toes anymire. I probably caught a cold in the process. (At the same time, I had to tell my father where I was going while he mixed up the street names :\)
But that was not the end, oh noooo. Far from it. Now that I was in the car, we needed to find a way to go home. While stuck in a traffic jam, while the whole city is a traffic. And no official, no policeman was even trying to regulate the situation. For fuck's sake, that's your job. People automatically freak out and become stupid twits when it starts snowing. They drive too slowly and block the circulation. There were times when we did not even move forward for almost ten minutes. This is fucking ridiculous.
We tried several options and in the end, more than an hour after I had rejoin my father, we finally got home. WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK.
(My mother situation was worse. She was working the afternoon and she works in a PIC (kind of a postal plant), roughly 35-minutes away. 1) The bosses did not want to let them
2) The A4 (motorway) was closed and there were lorries flung accross the road.
3) When she managed to leave at 8:45PM, the A4 hadn't not even been cleared. The snow had turned to ice, there were cars and lorries in the middle of the road. People were completely freaking and doing exactly what you're not supposed to do if you drive on the ice :|
She got home after 11PM.
WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK.
WHAT IS NOT WITH NOW THAT MAKES US SO EASILY PARALYSED ? WE KNEW THERE WAS GOING TO BE ALOT OF SNOW, METEO FRANCE HAD WARNED US AND YET... AND YET WE WERE COMPLETELY OVERCOME.
THIS IS A FUCKING DISGRACE.
(And apparently, same shit is predicted for next wednesday. This time, if it starts snowing before I leave school, I'M NOT FUCKING GOING)
