Exaaaaams tomorrow, today :D The weather is so shitty I'm worried I won't be able to go. After all, I've got bus, train and metro. Let's hope the SNCF will be efficient, it's not every year I want to go to University so bad. I only have grammar and comprehension and I feel pretty confident. Afterwards, there's oral on Thursday then the start of the new semester is on the 19th :D
But enough with that and let's talk about that Christmas Eve...
Originally, it was supposed to be the traditional family meal, with my father and my mother, that is to say not extraordinary and sometimes downright boring. (You see, it's okay with my mum because we talked a lot, but each fucking time, my father feel left out and out of the blue starts a new discussion with my mother, completely ignoring the fact that we were already talking, you twat ! And we can't discussing History with him because a) He only go by what he learned in school more thirty years ago b) In any battle France VS UK, the UK always cheated. Even if they did not.)
I was not particularly looking forward to the evening, if only to have my gifts *w*, my box of books *w*. But my wife was soon to find me a way out. She in fact asked to spend the evening with her at her house, her parents being away and her brother having invited a friend of his. Rather than being bored out her mind during the whole evening, she thought of me *w*. I was quite happy, even if I did not believe I would be allowed to go. My father was the problem again, as stubborn as he is, I was pretty sure he would say no, I have to spend Christmas with my family, ladidada~~ But he did not, or rather he did but my mother pwned him. She did all the work for me , I love me mum ♥ Seriously, we talked about it the morning, I was seeing chtiterikku again the afternoon to go see some films (We had done the same the day before) and when I got home the evening, my father was okay with it (even he grumbled about it) and I was literally boucing with joy :D
And on the 24th, with my bags (including, the Murphies, a bottle of Malibu *w* and my rose), I embarked (XD) for a wonderful Christmas Eve
I arrived in the late afternoon and we went to the surpermarket to buy foie gras, with me carrying my bags, with boots :D Because I was wearing a skirt, mind you :D Not a common occurence :D And yes, I like to complain :D
When we got home, after the greetings and introductions, we started by making the Christmas Tree (I know, it's a bit late). We went to the basement for that, and although it was a bit freezing in here, we spent quite a long time rummaging about, chtite rikku showed her old school notebooks (Mathematics, how I hate thee !), some olds books and she found old plushies, and especially one, a horse. Thing is, I have exactly the same plushy at home :O That waaaas weird, the number of things we discover we had in common, like old series or films or cartoons we remember. And yet, we're not the same age, which make it even weirder.
We made the small Christmas Tree and it was quite cute actually. It was small but the way she decorated it, mainly white and blue was really pretty. Besides, size does not matter ;D
We put the Murphies together after that. (I really need to take a picture of my murphies and hers :D)
And I think we started cooking, well more like she started cooking and I watched her, helping from time to time. But she loves to cook, so that was okay :D We talked a lot during the cooking about a lot of things, including Religion (why, yes I AM obsessed), school (kids, these days, are pretty dumb), a bit of politics, fandom... It's always great to have someone you can talk to, who is not (always) looking at you, as if you were an alien. The discussion was half-serious, half-funny and she tried to attack me with apple, peelings (since she was baking a tarte tatin) , she later attacked me with caramel, salad sauce. I'm a poor victim of cooked food ! D:
(By the way, I love their kitchen, it's so fucking well-equipped !)
Cooking and eating did take a good part of the evening, here's the fantastic and light menu, my wife had concocted, and which I ate entirely (this is coming from someone who has a little stomach and is quite picky about food) :
First Course : Foie Gras, Toasts, Magret de Canard séché(Duck Filet), Confit d'Oignon.
Main Dish : Salade de Crotins de Chèvre chauds et son gésier de canard (*avait commencé à écrire 'connard'* o__o) aux pommes de terre sautées.
Dessert : Tarte Tatin. Version Bouillie XD
We forgot the alcohol D: But my wife and I made it up (albeit quite mildly) to the bottle the day after, in front of Merlin :D
And this is going to be all for this part :D I have to go to bed now, I need to get a bit of sleep for this afternoon :D
