It’s rant time ! 8D
First thing, a disclaimer.
This rant is not going to be okay with everyone. It’s a bit of rant & bitch post. There’s an edge to this rant. I’m not being nice but I’m not attacking anyone in particular. I’m seriously wondering if the average person is still able to question things. And I hear people already groaning in despair :D
If you’re not okay with me, feel free to bitch & rant in response. I’m not flocking it because I like a good debate.
If you want to know what this is all about, click on the cut :D
This rant is about X Japan’s announce of a concert in Paris.
Some things :
1) I don’t care whether they come or not. I would prefer for them to do as they said but I’m not a ‘real’ fan of them. I won’t be disappointed if they don’t come. I would feel sort of vindicated for my friends who cares. But me ? Not really.
2) Even if I don't care, it still boggles my mind the way it’s done. I’m ranting about it because it’s amazing about people takes things for granted.
3) I’ve nothing against the band and nothing against Yoshiki. I’m just explaining things as they are. In a rational and realistic way.
4) This is speculation based on facts and reliable information you can find on the net. I’m not saying “I know they screwed up.” I’m saying “All the information compiled indicate they most likely screwed up.”
5) Don’t jump on me for being a non-believer. It’s just stupid.
6)
euphony_of_love, I’m doing this also for you, since you wanted to come and you have to know what’s happening in my shitty country :D
To be clear, there has never been a clear-cut announcement for a X Japan live in Paris on the 5th of July. There has been
an annoucement during a conference that Yoshiki wished to do a live in Paris on the 5t of July. No concert hall, no place has been announced since the conference. Yoshiki talked about a place for 20, 000 - 30, 000 persons.
There’s no such concert hall in Paris. We have the Zenith (6, 500) and we then jumped to Bercy (17, 000~) to the Parc des Princes (60, 000). This was the first thing I thought was fishy with this announce. We had no place and an impossible number. And yet ? No one wondered. Or a few did since I’ve never heard of a real question/wondering about this concert.
It seems like, since it’s X, everyone is inhaling whatever JaME et other so-called officials are giving the fans. I mean, would it kill people to just think about these things ? Yoshiki announced at the same time the concert in NY. It will be in September and they already have the Madison Square Garden. It’s two months after us and they already know where it’s going to be. Doesn’t that strike you as smelling fishy ?
I did some research and my mother helped. There’s definitely no concert hall or adequate of that size in Paris. All concert halls and alike places are all booked for the 5th. This should have already worried people. But no. People are still believing that X Japan will come.
(X Japan, like Jesus in a way)
And maybe they’ll come. And this is where I think this whole project went horribly wrong.
The concert in Paris is listed on JaME website as taking place in ‘Paris Nord Villepinte’ so ‘le Parc des Expositions’. Where there’s going to be the Japan Expo. And I do have problems with that solution.
Why ?
Because there’s no fucking way they’ll find room to place 20,000 - 30,000 persons. Because the only place I would see them try to their concert is the hall 6 which means ‘crappy accoustic’. Because it’s gonna be a real bother for foreigners to go there. Because to me, it screams ‘We’ve imagined too big now we have to find a way not to screw things up too much’.
At both JaME & the
X Japan official site, the concert is listed as taking place in Paris Nord Villepinte. But
the actual site of ‘le Parc des Expos’, nothing. Not a word. There’s no concert announced only exhibitions. There’s nothing on the Japan Expo site either. There’s nothing on the usual sites which list the lives in France. Nowhere except the two parties’ sites (and a weird tickets distributor in Germany which list the concert at PNV but without a price) is taht announced. It does not exist outside of JaME & X Japan. It’s not on Fnac.com either.
It would be a long time before the concert, I would say “Okay, they still have time.’ But there’s only a month and a half left.
Let’s take a look at the little timeline, shall we :
2008.03.29 : First announcement of a possible concert of X Japan in France in front of 20000 persons. Yoshiki might have said he planned to. Information non confirmed.
2008.04.03 : Announcement of Yoshiki annoucing he’s going to do a concert in Paris on the 7/5 in partnership with the Japan Expo (with no place mentionned) and in New York the 9/13 at the Madison Square Garden. The organisazers of the JE did not denied anything but said nothing more.
Now let’s see the last phrase of these news :
« Nous vous tiendrons informés de la suite des événements dès que nous en saurons plus. »
(roughly) We will tell you more about this event as soon as we know more.
2008.05. 04 (A month after !) : Announcement of a concert in Taiwan at World Trade Center of Taiper on the 2nd of August. One month after the French Concert and they already have the place announced. But, oh ! In the same news, JaME managed to place subtly that the French Concert would take place at Paris Nord Villepinte.
And now we’re on the 20th of May. There has been no official news (putting it in another news doesn’t count as official) apart from the X Japan official site. And the tickets are still not being sold anywhere. I’ve just read some posts on JaME forum. Some people don’t seem to think the accoustic of a hall would be amazingly crappy for a live concert. I... just... Even some concert halls are crappy for Rock Music. A frigging hall ?
Blackout of information for more than a month, an important information slipped in another news and then more than a week without anything. The concert is in a month and a half, guys. Maybe it’s time to say something ?
I don’t want to hear the excuse ‘Oh. It’s Yoshiki, they’re going to say everything at the last minute’ I don’t care. Be fucking professional. They usually start selling tickets at least more than a month before the live. Think of people coming from the province and from other countries. They need to prepare the train/plane and the hotel. And yet nothing’s confirmed. There was nothing new coming from the parties involved. Why are they going to do ? Wait until a real confirmation with the sale of the tickets and realise they won’t be able to go because they can’t find a plane, a train or an hotel ?
Maybe the persons taking care of the organisation of this concert should pull their heads out their arses and start thinking practically about what’s going to happen and how it’s going to happen.
“ So what do we get ? ” *à la TDK Trailer style*
“ Nothing yet...”*Gary Oldman Voice*
It’s speculation, yes. But speculation based on facts. Speculation based on the sad little fact that within a month and half, there will be a concert and we still don’t know what the hell is going on.
It could be good if fans could start thinking too. But hey, who am I kidding ? The Average VK Fan is unable to think on his/her own.
AFAIK, there has been no official annoucement for the live. Therefore there’s no live of X Japan in Paris. Call me back when it’s been properly announced and the tickers are being sold :D
*waits for the tomatoes*
I’m sure I did not say everything I wanted to say but you get the gist of it.
PS : I’m 45 pages (45/260 TT) into THE THING. I’m progressing slowly and painfully. And I need booze.
PPS :
http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/23639780.html Oh, FUCK ! I don't know about the adaptation, seriously. I hope they don't fucked it up or else I'll cut a bitch. But Ben Barnes, he totally looks like Dorian Gray to me. I imagine Dorian almost exactly like him when I read the book ♥
