Howdy all!
I've come to the conclusion I spend too much money on food at school. It's not on purpose per sey...Obviously I want and need the food, and it's a lot easier to get food in the Student Center on M/W/F than any other alternative (plus that's the time Mark and I sit and speak geek to each other...) But I think if I at the very least cut back on T/TH (which is the hardest since I have the greatest amount of time between classes...perfect for eating) and perhaps bring food (as I have today...two PB sandwiches and some Cheez-Itz...or however they spell that...) to balance it out. Also, I'm thinking I'm cutting back on the burgers. Generally, Mark and I eat at Carls Jr. and I always order some kind of sandwich. I think starting tomorrow, I'm gonna order a salad of some kind on W/F or M/W or something like that, just to get some more green in me.
Of course, you ALL wanted to know that...
This weekend was...eh. A weekend I suppose. I got both my tests from last week back. 87% on one (math). 78% on the other (psych.). I'm not terribly pleased with my psych. grade, but it is an improvement. 'Sides, a 'C' is still better than a 'D'.
Unfortunatly, my plans with both Mark and Derek fell through. Derek and I just kept missing each other. and Mark couldn't see the prestige on friday, due to the fact that he and his gf were celebrating an anniversary of some variety. Ah well.
Friday I went to Navs as usual. But for some reason it was really short. I considered going to play broom ball with Trent and other Navs members, but my head was killing me. So I went home.
So saturday was mostly work related. I finished my HW on friday night after Navs (eh. What the hell. Not like I had anything better to do) so I could hang out with Mark and Derek on saturady. Since that didn't happen, I had the rest of the weekend "off". At work I cut my thumb with a bread knife. Not too badly. But it was kinda deep and it bled a bit. Nothing that required me to go to the hospital.
So, after church on saturday night (which, as wonderful of a sermon as it was, was REALLY freakin' long) I went to Pops place and hung out with Matt and Ian and their friends for an hour or so. Matt was celebrating his birthday, since he couldn't on monday...being a school day and what not.
Of course, the problem being that everyone was smoking very heavily. Normally this doesn't bother me TOO much, since in previous parties I can go inside from the garage and socialize with others. The problem this time was Pops was with Aknishka and I didn't want to bother them too much. But even then it wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the fact I have been some kinda nasty cold/flu/illness-thing that has been plaguing me with headaches and a sore throat. Sooo...yeah...smoke from various sources is never much help. So I let Matt know and I cut out early.
Sunday was usual at first. I stopped in a bit earlier to say hi to Pops and the guys again, and Pops helped me change my oil again. Everything was pretty regular. But I got a call from Renee at around 1:45. Apparently, one of my other co-workers cut his thumb so bad he was rushed to the hospital, so I was asked to come in early. I figured why not. I need the money (besides regular expenses, Christmas IS coming up after all...) and it wasn't like I was doing anything better. So, I came in early, and ended up staying late to help Tom close.
Unfortunatly, sunday was DEAD. And I mean really dead. I imagine this was because our sign burned out and no one bothered to see if we were open. But oh well. Being dead wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have to work with Andrew. GOD he annoys the crap out of me.
For one, he complains about everything. Secondly, he's just a dooche. It seems like he gets some kinda sick pleasure whenever I do something particularly stupid or injure myself. As you can imagine, that kinda gets on a guy's nerves. But he's 16 and he's your typical 16 year old (I.E. an idiot) so I'm not really going to hold it against him too much. Besides, he's not worth getting angry over.
Finally, sunday night, I FINALLY got an email from my professor in anthropology responding to the one I sent her THURSDAY regarding my essay that is due TODAY. She said overall it was great, but she was concerned about my sources, stating they aren't archeological. This kind of worries me, although I'm confident most of them (all except one, in fact) are. And the one that isn't, there isn't anything I can do. I had very little to work with. What bothers me is what the hell does she mean by ARCHEOLOGICAL? I'm writing an essay on ancient Mesopotamia. I think most of the information must have been archaeological at one point or another. *sigh*. Normally, I wouldn't care so much. But I got a 70% on both tests thus far, and I'm really trying to make a more positive impact on my grades.
Well...I'll just pray about it and leave it up to God and my professor I suppose.
Anyway, yesterday and today have been uneventful for the most part. FF III for the DS comes in today, and I can't WAIT to pick it up. But knowing Gamestop, I'm sure the stupid thing won't be in until tomorrow. Bah. Gamestop sucks.
Speaking of Gamestop sucking, it seems now that the only way I will be able to procure a Wii without a pre-order (since I missed all opportunities, mostly on account of Gamestop not allowing me to take back my store credit as cash), I'm going to have to camp out there on saturday night and just wait for the midnight madness.
...I really don't like that idea.
1. Campers are lame. Seriously. I know I'm not exactly a social butterfly, but there are far better things I'd rather be doing (with people or by myself, as the case may be) than sitting outside a store on cold concrete waiting to get this thing.
2. It's cold. Colorado is somewhat fickle during the fall and winter months, but on a general basis we're cold. Our recent cold spell kicked in yesterday, and while it seems to be getting warmer, I can only imagine it's gonna be freezing on saturday night.
3. You have no idea how bored I'm going to be. Seriously. Since I plan to get there right after church and wait, that's a whole four hours. That's well beyond nuts. My DS will keep me occupied for a while (certainly since I'll have FF III by then) but what if my battery dies or I just get bored of it? I can't READ. There's no real light, since I'll be outside and the store is a part of an outlet mall. I won't have any homework to do (assuming there will even be sufficent light to do it) since I don't have any over the fall break. I can't seem to rope anyone into coming to wait with me (they either are leaving for the break or think the whole thing is as ludicrous as I do). So, I'm kinda stuck. I suppose I can talk to other giddy fanboys that are waiting there (trust me. There's gonna be SOMEONE who's been there since noon, I'm sure). But somehow that idea frightens me...
"I <3 teh Z3ld4 t0 t3h m4x000rrRRrr!!!1! XD XD XD *spooge*"
"...Yeeeeah...I'm gonna face this direction now."
"Dood...j00 h4d a M4r10rg3s1m!"
"sv337!"
*shudders*
Why did I ever think that was cool?
Anyway, so, yeah. Pray for me or wish me luck or whatever. I'd appreciate it.
Anyway, I'm hungry now, and there's a bag of Cheez-Itz and a PB sandwich with my name ALL over it. So peace out homies!
P.S. Oh yeah. Guys (Dan and Yvonne specifically) I'm gonna need an andress to send your Christmas gifts to. Dan, where do you want me to send yours to? Do you want me to send it to Yvonne, to your dorm, or to your home?
