My last previous post was in 2008. What has happened to me since then? Well, I got a Master's degree. Not an MFA like I originally planned, but an MS in Ecohydrology and Watershed Management. I work for the USGS as a hydrologist. It's a good job and I'm happy with it.
My art practice has fallen to the wayside for the last couple of years because of grad school. I'm trying to get back on that track, but it's not so fast.
I moved in with my boyfriend in 2009, and things are good on that front.
I got diagnosed with ADHD when I was in grad school -- I was getting chest pains from anxiety, and so I was looking for treatment before I exploded or fled the program. Huh. This is still one of those things I don't know how I feel about, but all I can say is that when I got meds, it was like finally getting a pair of glasses after being nearsighted all of my life, and I don't think I could have succeeded without them.
I've gotten into a few new interests: grad school got me into the 'bad' habit of TV, which I never really watched before. Right now I am catching up on Doctor Who and Mad Men. I went on a Joss Whedon spree over the last couple years (although I haven't seen Dollhouse yet).
I also got more into bicycling and bicycles. I have 4 bikes now, including one I took apart and rebuilt and painted from scratch. I did my first bike tour a couple of years ago. That was cool. I couldn't get anyone to go with me, so I was solo.
There's probably more I could say, but I can't think of it. Happy New Year!
