The third day in Porto wasn't too in-tensed with tourism;). We've just visited a museum and henrique infante casa and booked a river cruise for the next day. The museum was interesting in the sections dedicated to the modern art. Casa de infante could be easily skipped... Good thing we had a porto card ( bought it at the beginning of the trip) and didn't need to pay for it ;). The rest of the day we just were relaxing, people watching, coctail drinking and talking of our future life, plans, parties.... The desired cigar in the evening couldn't be smoked due to the light rain which finally reached Porto.
The following day was the first rainy one in Porto and the second with none-sunny weather during our whole trip. We carefully planned the river cruise for this day and could still enjoy "mostly cloudy with sun intervals and rain intervals" weather;) the river valley is worth to see and has to be seen from the boat. The boat leaves 8 am, offeres breakfast and lunch and arrives to Pihnao around 6pm... It's a bit touristy with a bit of a "boiled tourist" food but if one takes it easy the view especially after the second damn conmpensates all the cons... The valley is trully beaitiful and unique...
About 9pm we were back to Porto and completed the day with one of the nicest meals for this trip. The tapas place xxxx has nice staff and very tasty food -meaning tapas. One dish i'd like to try cooking at home is three type of cheeses baked in fole pastry and served with wild berry souce...as well as lime pie ;)
While dining we've learnt that from last saturday of may a week long student festival in Porto starts... Basically it's a week long drinking and dancing party which starts with students fado performance in the squares... The scenary though is cool as all the students do wear the uniform and gowns around the city and the crowds of those are very distinctive. On tuesday is a student parade and mayer greetings...
That's about it of my Porto notes;)....
