It's not hard. Took me two weeks to learn the software, I knew NOTHING about GIS when I started this job. I have zero background in geography. Maybey some basic knowledge from the elementary school - that's it. It will be a useful application in psychology, and in your AIDS-related work, because it can be used for processing and analyzing demographical and statistical data and stuff like that.
