The tag set will be available when we've finished checking tags - around mid October. As HopefulNebula says, this change was made last year. (hence the coordination around what people did nominate.) I know it can make for wait and stress, but it's also less stressful for us to be doing fixes that people have pointed out all in one go, at the end. Also, sometimes we will approve or reject something incorrectly and need to fix that, and we catch that ourselves, or come to a different decision about how to handle a very tangled fandom, and it's less stressful to do that among the tagmods than to do that at the same time as everyone's weighing in.
Also, I am so sorry it's taken me so long to beta your fic, it currently has a tonne of comments on it, some of which are just :D - aiming for tonight/tomorrow.
Not sure if this is where to ask, but I nominated something that I'm worried might be ineligible. If it isn't deemed eligible, will I have time to change out that spot for another thing, or am I risking wasting a nomination slot?
nominations are final once they've been accepted or rejected. no take-backsies! so yes, potentially you could waste a nomination slot nominating something that's ineligible.
People can ask for general advice, but with borderline fandoms, we aren't going to make a ruling until after nominations are over, and you can't change your nomination then.
Tag sets are not visible to anyone but their owners and maintainers until tags are approved. We are not approving tags as they come in, but in a concerted effort after nominations close. Then we will spend some time tidying up the tag set before opening it to general review. If you'd like to see what other people have nominated, we suggest you take part in the volunteer coordination posts over on the yuletide.livejournal.com or yuletide.dreamwidth.org communities.
Quick question: am I required to write something for the fandom(s) I nominate, if they get chosen to be in Yuletide? I'm totally good with that, I just want to know ahead of time. :)
No, you are not. Your nominations help create the tag set. Then, when signing up, you select from the tag set when choosing your offers and requests. These are separate processes.
However, if you don't intend to sign up at all, we ask you to think twice before nominating, as it may add fandoms and characters to the tag set that no one is planning to request.
