State of the tag set bug
We're currently assessing the damaged caused by the tag set bug and the tag set will remain closed until we've done so. We expect to open it again before the weekend.
As the issue is caused by underlying wrangling on AO3, we do not expect to have a fix this year. We'll do our best to corral the wandering characters in their proper fandoms and eliminate duplicates but we may end up with a few extra characters in some fandoms (who exist in those fandoms but were not nominated).
At no time did we consider redoing nominations. The bug affects a small percentage of the fandoms in the tag set and we are confident we can contain the damaged.
On a general status note, we have 3424 fandoms in the tag set and 14,544 characters at the moment. We're down to 229 nominations to review, mostly small fandoms and fandoms on the border of eligibility, with a handful of fast growing fandoms that we're holding off on making decisions on.
