I've had mine picked out for a while now. vampedvixen September 11 2007, 19:46:59 UTC
The Pirate Movie
RPF: Musicians: Voltaire
Voltaire's Oh My Goth comic book

Is it cheating that Voltaire is mentioned twice?

D'oh, forgot my main one: Philip Reeve's Hungry Cities quartet.

I read the four of them in a couple of days, loved them madly.

My Fair Lady (or Pygmalion, I suppose)! God, I meant to nominate it last year and forgot, and then when I went to request Higgins/Pickering I was FOILED. :-P (at self)

Hmm, that would be fun!

Um....I nominated Pygmalion last year; I was thinking about requesting Eliza/Clara.

I admit I don't know Pygmalion very well. It was MFL that I meant to nominate, and then completely flaked. [sigh]

Based on what I really loved reading from the past yuletide:

The Secret History by Donna Pratt
Classical mythology
The 4400 (is this still small enough?)
Wicked by Jeffrey Maguire
Shaun of the Dead
Vor novels by Lois McMaster Bujold(I want more Cordelia, damn it!!)
Burn Notice if it's still small enough

We absolutely must have the Vor novels. Some of the *best* fic out of last year's Yuletide was from that fandom!

More Cordelia is always a good thing! Aral, too.

*whispers* Donna Tartt.
The Secret History was one of my three choices, though not the one written.
I love that book. I played Henry Winter in various guises for years in RPGs from Spycraft to Amber.

Bookverse or TV verse?

Reply

nestra September 11 2007, 20:35:31 UTC
I'm only familiar with the TV-verse. Looks like bookverse was already nominated last year.

I'll highly rec the bookverse. I liked the TV show, but the books are ... darker and richer, with a touch more bitterness.
TV show= Milk Chocolate
Books=Dark Chocolate
