You must be 18 or older to participate. If you're new to Yuletide, please take a look at the FAQ! (Note, this has not yet been updated specifically for this year, and still contains some misleading info - there are no prequalifying requirements if you have not participated in the past, or missed last year, for instance.)
Please read the instructions carefully before signing up. You may sign up for Yuletide from now until Thursday November 2nd 8th, 9pm US Eastern time, and you can change your sign-up choices at any point until sign-ups close. If you are resubmitting to change your signup information, please reuse the exact same name and email.
Eligibility
If you didn't finish your Yuletide story last year and didn't inform us beforehand, please don't sign up again. After this year, there will be a ban list instituted that will block those who are banned for defaulting without notification from signing up in another year. Please notify us ASAP if you are going to have to default on your commitment. If you have to default and notify us, then we will ask you to write a NYR story in the next year to maintain your eligibility for Yuletide 2007. If you default a second time, you will be banned permanently.
If you have used a different username or email address in the past, and want to change the ones in the archive, or used the wrong email on your sign-up form, please email yuletide at yuletidetreasure dot org with the precise information.
Your name must be unique. Please check the participants list on the right side of the sign-up form and make sure no one has used the same name before you. You also cannot use names that are the same except for spaces/special characters/capitalization.
NOTE ON COMPATIBLE BROWSERS: the second page of the signup form requires Javascript, and some browsers cannot handle it. Windows users should try the most recent versions of Firefox or Internet Explorer (IE); Mac users should use Firefox or Mozilla. SAFARI WILL NOT WORK, sorry!

You must make requests in at least three different fandoms. You may also submit a fourth request, in either a different or duplicate fandom. For each fandom, you may select from one to four characters to be included, or "any," if you'd be happy with any characters. You will receive one story, based on one of your requests.
Offers
You must offer at least three different fandoms. However, please offer as many fandoms as you can -- that makes life much easier for us. You will only be required to write one story, no matter how many fandoms you offer, based on any one of your recipient's requests.
Please don't treat Yuletide as a game of stump-the-author or as an excuse to come up with the weirdest pairing or combination. Only put in requests that you sincerely would like to read. Think about the kind of requests that would inspire you, and try to give your santa the same.
