Looking for a few good elves!
I kind of lost a month or so, and now it's time to start culling and straightening and preparing for adding new characters and fandoms. And digging out my Yulebat.
I'm looking for diligent, detail-oriented people who could take a portion of the Yuletide fandom listing and comb through it for fandoms that need to be eliminated for lack of rarity, as well as catching any possible errors or dupes -- although dupes won't necessarily show up within the portion you receive. I'd like to send out the fandom sections tomorrow, so if you're interested (and haven't already indicated you'd like to help), let me know here, or at elynross at gmail dot com.
If you have sent me corrections over the past year, I'm working on incorporating those; any other comments or corrections are welcome, and can be sent to me at the above address, or to yuletide at yuletidetreasure dot org.
I'll be setting up a pinch hit list on Yahoo! Anyone who thinks they might be interested in pinch-hitting can join, and it will work similarly to the setup last year: I'll send out the requests, and the first person who gets back to me gets the pinch hit. You do not have to register for the main Yuletide event to pinch hit! However, if you aren't playing the main event, your name won't show up as a participant on the Yuletide pages, as those are pulled from the sign-ups. I'll announce it here when I have it set up.
The call for new characters for old fandoms and the one for new fandoms will probably be in a couple of weeks. One change I'm making is that new TV fandoms are only eligible after they've completed a full season (of however many eps that is, depending on who airs it/how many it gets an okay for) or if they've been cancelled prior to the call for new fandoms. Every year we get a few fandoms that aren't truly rare, they're just new, so I think giving them a year before they're eligible gives an indication of whether they're going to take off, or not.
I'm also probably going to eliminate the RPF misc actors and misc musicians categories, in favor of fandom-specific listings, which can be added during the new fandom period. The larger generic categories are almost impossible to track, and the character listings are unwieldy.
