2014 DYW post and spreadsheet
Optional details are optional, but some of us like to expound on our optional details more than the AO3 sign-up allows, and these expanded details can be valuable for writers. Hence letters were born. A Dear Yuletide Writer letter lists the 3-6 fandoms you requested for Yuletide, as well as any additional information you want to add that you didn't include in your sign-up.
Letters are entirely optional, and may be posted at anytime throughout Yuletide. That can be now, or after you've finished signing up, or even after Yuletide starts. There is no need to comment with a 'placeholder' comment that you plan to come back and edit, or leave a blank Yuletide letter that isn't complete yet. Any placeholdered comment will not be indexed on the spreadsheet. We promise your letter will still get read! Yuletide letters are read throughout Yuletide, so there's no pressure to rush it. Many people will search by fandom (the A-Z list) regularly, plus there's always Madness and NYRs so late letters DO get seen!
When you link to your letter in the Dear Yuletide Writer post, please use the format in the text-box to make things easier for the kind editors collecting information about the all the letters in an easy-to-search spreadsheet.

AO3 Name: (the name you signed-up to yuletide with)
Fandoms: Please put each fandom on a separate line with no extra characters (bullets, asterisks, commas, character listing, or happy faces) and no all caps. It makes indexing a lot easier.
ETA: We are linking directly to letters; if you post multiple URLs the FIRST URL will be the indexed one. If you have multiple URLs and would like them all incorporated (as in a separate link for each fandom) please let us know in your comment.
ETA2: It has been mentioned that if you plan on changing your Tumblr URL in the next few months, to please NOT post your letter on Tumblr, as the link will break, and your letter will be inaccessible.

If there is a mistake, or if you change or add fandoms between now and when signups close, please add a NEW comment to explain this! If you edit your original comment, that change will NOT be reflected on the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet editors are not going back through the comments or tracking the post for changes.
