Kanou is hard to handle, but I blame that on the canon info we have for him being mostly little bits here and there. We've never gotten a good hard look at him under more normal circumstances, since the Nishiura/Mihoshi game was obviously pretty emotionally charged for both of the pitchers.

(Though now I'm kicking myself for somehow missing that entire Kanou discussion. I just went back and read it all. XD)

I always feel like I'm totally winging it when I RP Kanou. I never know if what sounds reasonable to me would work for...anybody else. At least the only other Oofuridork in the game thinks I'm fine. XD

Yeaaaah. D: More canon information would be great. I'm actually getting most of my Kanou information from episode 25. B[ And the first few innnings of the NishiuraMihoshi game when he still wasn't all aggravated and desperate.

I mostly characterize Kanou based on 25, too. And also the blue omake from volume 2, although you can't really go too far with that because people grow, people change. But they mention that in elementary school, he was like the leader of all the boys, which I think is pretty significant because it's proof that he's not a social retard. That and how defensive his teammates are of him -- and I don't just mean Hatake; I think Mihashi was an easy target, but I do think the fact that Kanou was probably well-liked would've had something to do with that.

So while I don't know whether to apply the word "amiable," I would definitely argue that Kanou has charisma, and I think he probably makes a decent first impression. (Of course, the same omake mentions all the girls hating him, but lol elementary school. KANOU HAS COOTIES!)

Of course, I also think as soon as you throw Mihashi into the equation, things get hilariously complicated, but we all know what I ship. X)

Lol, yeah. He seems friendly enough (point on amiable, I really should use words properly) and he's not the type to not know how to talk to people. There must be SOME reason why his team loves him aside from his MOE looks. B| I got the impression from the omake that he's fairly self-confident, though that's a little harder to write with the YOU POV. >.> (They knew that Kanou was prettier cuter than they were? 8D)

... Hehe. XD Oh, Shuu-chan. I'd trust him with Mihashi more than I would Abe, any day.

Figuring out his self-confidence gets kind of hilarious because he does seem like he'd have it -- except then there's the whole MIHASHI IS BETTER thing. But I definitely think by 25, regardless of who he thinks is better, he knows he's good. It sounded like he was kicking ass in their game offscreen and all, and having a first year pitch for something like that would be pretty cool to start with.

So I guess I'd say he knows he's good, but he also is never blinded by it (like Hatake, lol) and he knows when someone else is better. Confident but not overconfident.
